ken pritchard is live where a rally is just getting underway. ken? >> reporter: well, in just the last half-hour, the crowd went from several hundred to several thousand. these are students and faculty all here to protest what they call police violence. as seen in this video, seen around the world. two officers were put on paid leave after pepper spraying students friday in this same open campus area of the quad, the students were aligned with the occupy wall street movement and were protesting higher student fees and tuition. now, this morning, a uc davis chancellor announced that the police chief was also mayed on administrative leave. the can -- placed on administrative leave. many students here are not satisfied with the investigation. some blame the chancellor for allowing police to crack down on students. >> i saw the videos. it's the human rights violations. what happened was disgusting. i dent think it was necessary at all -- i didn't think it was necessary at all. >> students with angry and they want justice. >> reporter: what we have happen
