ktvu's ken pritchett is live where the talks are still taking place. ken? >> reporter: i could tell you in the past few minutes we have seen some of the representatives walk out of the building heading out on dinner break. one was asked if there had been any progress and he said not really. yesterday as they came and went they did not fill us in on how things are going. today that has changed. >> are we going to stay strong? >> reporter: that was the union's negotiator updating members on the picket line at the bart station. it came during the lunch break and the tone was cheerly not upbeat. she said the union demands haven't even been discussed and we are four days into the strike. there is no indication of progress and claims made that bart was trying to break the union. >> we are forced to come out on strike because we can't negotiate with these folks. >> we are working to reach a fair contract for our workers. and to come to some agreements that will allow us to do what we need to do for thfuture of bart. >> reporter: thate mediators asked the parties t

ktvu's ken pritchett is in oakland where some of the children were rescued. >> reporter: police rescued two of the children on east 14th street as part of this operation. they were being sexually exploited and of the 105 children rescued in a nationwide operation led by the fbi, a dozen were here in the bay area. >> the fbi called it operation cross country. the fbi office in san francisco led 17 bay area sweeps. >> we were able to rescue 12 juveniles and arrest 21 pimps. >> reporter: 8 of the children were from the east bay, 3 from the north bay and 1 from the south bay. >> if we could get one off the street that is success. >> reporter: this is just the beginning. recovery is difficult and complicated. >> a lot of minors don't view themselves as victims. >> reporter: she a youth case manager, they provide services for victims of sex trafficking. she says victims will leave one unsafe environment and end up in another, often they are run aways. finding a stable home a major challenge. >> a young woman said i would rather be abused by somebody i don't know than somebody i know. >> repor

ktvu's ken pritchett is live with the bay area connection and the person who found the plane who was itical to a rescue. ken? >> reporter: the couple left and are from palo alto. their plane was based here at the palo alto airport. a nurse was walking her dog near the crash scene. the single engine plane was built in 1963. the sheriff's department says the pilot steven was found dead, his wife was conscious but trapped with gas leaking from the aircraft. the plane was taking off and heading -- took off and was heading north bound. it banked to the right and within a mile crashed into a wooded area. the plane was bossed here at the airport. a man said he was meticulous about caring for the aircraft and last year painted a red stripe, that was very visible in the wreckage. the plane landed upside down. the pilot's wife was airlifted to the hospital and the plane was found by a nurse who was walking by. >> she has moderate injuries. she will be okay. >> reporter: [ inaudible question ] >> she is very lucky. >> short time after the plane crashed an off duty nurse was walking in the area w

ken pritchett has been there since 1:00 p.m. this afternoon.date shortly. >>> one woman is dead, several people injured after a tree came down on a camp site near most -- near yosemite, it is based in san francisco, called camp tawonga. they are north of the famous park. ktvu's robert handa reports on what happened. >> reporter: camp tawonga near yosemite national park had been a happy summer camp for 300 children till this morning. this morning a huge oak tree, crashed down around the camp dining hall. aya a student at uc santa cruz had been killed. >> unfortunate bizarre accident. i don't think there is any way to determine when it will happen or if it will happen. >> reporter: it came down on power lines, as workers had to wait for pg&e to cut off electricity. >> all of the children are accounted for. for the camp. that there were four adult staff members that had been hit by the tree and they were taken out to area hospitals. >> reporter: two staff members were taken here. >> they were obviously upset about their injuries and the accident.

we begin tonight with ken pritchett and the very latest on the investigation. >> reporter: heather todaylearned that three of the four members of the pilot crew had been interviewed by the time we had that ntsb briefing this afternoon. that was around 3:00 this afternoon, and a fourth crew member was in the process of being interviewed. we learned not only was the pilots behind the plane, not only was it his first time landing a 777 and the instructor, it was his first time instructing as well. the crash of 214 had several firsts. we knew the pilot behind the controls was making his first landing in a 777. but today we learned this about the instructor. >> he reported this was his first trip as an instructor pilot. the instructor pilot stated that he was the pilot in command. >> reporter: the ntsb says all four pilots are being cooperative. however a key part of most crash investigations has been lost. >> none of the crew members on asiana flight 214 were tested for drugs and alcohol postcrash. >> reporter: drug and alcohol testing is standard with u.s. pilots involved in a crash but not

. >> ktvu's ken pritchett live at sf general with the latest on the injured and the recovery. >> reporter: 53 patients were treated at sf general. most of them have been released. 17 remain this the hospital, six in critical condition. today we heard from some of those patients who have been discharged. they told us about their experience escaping that plane. 34-year-old weng jang from china has bruises. her 4-year-old son suffered a broken leg crushed by the seat in front of him. >> it's horrible because i left the plane as early as possible because i take my baby to this hospital in their first ambulance. >> reporter: weng says the crash left about 10 seconds and she and her child escaped walking through a hole in the tarmac. >> a big hole. most of the bathroom is gone. >> reporter: this woman also discharged today did not want her name used. she also escaped with her child. she said she looked back at the plane as they walked away. >> i saw the plane is broken and not far after 10 minutes the plane is fire. >> reporter: she said some passengers had time to pack bags. sf general's chief
