ktvu's ken wayne is outside of the los angeles jail now and says the suspect has an alibi. ken? >> reporter: we talked to couple of attorneys here. we are outside the men's county jail. the lineup will take place inside of that building in 45 minutes. giovanni ramirez is said to bear a striking resemblance to the sketch by los angeles police. we are told as many of 8 witnesses will be on hand to see if they can identify giovanni ramirez who will be placed with others with similar characteristics. we heard from giovanni ramirez's attorney. >> we are going come in and there is going to see if they can identify the person who did this crime, if that person is in the lineup. >> reporter: we also talked to another attorney who is representing giovanni ramirez's 10-year-old daughter, he says she was with him the entire day on march 31 and didn't even attend the game. he says there are 8 other people who can vouch for his whereabouts. >> i spent hours talking with his daughter, there are eight different people that saw him on that day at a location in east hollywood. i went through eve

good evening, i'm ken wayne. >>> hello again, everyone, i'm heather holmes. a piece of u.s. history in oakland is targeted by thieves. they made off with a massive brass gun poor from the batship uss maine which had been on display at lakeside park for decades. only on 2 eric rasmussen live in oakland with the clues left behind. eric? >> reporter: it certainly took some heavy lifting. this big porthole or gun port was right here on this concrete slab. you can see where they knocked it right off. we were even able to make out some tire tracks where the thieves drove right up here to get it. and they apparently got away without being seen by anyone. this solid brass gun port had been a centerpiece of lakeside park in oakland for generations, a monument to history and the uss maine which sunk after an explosion in cuba in 1898. >> so you can see the shape like that. >> reporter: now it's gone. >> it's about as tall as i am. it's about this wide. >> reporter: park supervisor says these wooden planks are among the only evidence of how the thieves made off the huge relic. city wor

good evening, i'm ken wayne. >> and hello again, everyone, i'm heather holmes. we are watching traffic on illustrate -- on the bay bridge where construction is about to begin. crews are ready to shift eastbound traffic approaching oakland on to a new detour. that's where eric rasmussen is now live and, eric, there will be delays tonight? >> reporter: there certainly will be heather. i just talked to our contact here at the bay bridge about four minutes ago. crews are actually delayed. might not start for another hour or so because of all of the rain we had earlier today. we would like to switch our truck to a second camera we have to give you a sort of bird' eye view of the eastbound traffic. if you see us blowing around the camera is blowing around there. however, we can tell you they will be shutting down some lanes overnight tonight to shift this traffic on to the new detour. and that's, of course, to make room for the crews that are working on a new part of the bay bridge. shifting traffic on the bay bridge is no easy task, not even late on a saturday night.

. >> good evening, i'm ken wayne. >> i'm heather holmes. more questions about the safety of workers at napa state worker. another attack happened on a staff member. a source inside say the incident happened 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. a female physical therapist was being chased by a psychiatric patient and a man stepped in and the man received a serious beating. we just spoke with the hospital and they are not commenting on this incident today. there have been calls to improve security after a psychiatric technician was killed by a patient last october and a month before that incident a rehabilitation therapist was attacked and hospitalized by another patient. now we have a crew on the way to napa and we will have more details coming up tonight on the 10 p.m. news. >>> the highway patrol is investigating a deadly crash off highway 1 in sonoma county. the vehicle went over the highway just before 12:30:00 p.m. this afternoon. there you can see it in the surf at the bottom of the rocks. it crashed down a seaside cliff just north of badega bay
