. >> and i'm ken wayne. we will get to san bruno in a moment. but we begin with developing news from the airport where the coast guard has gone out to help a plane that went down at the bay. >> reporter: the helicopter that was used in the rescue right there in the back of the hanger. they just arrived back about 8:30 to be the. that helicopters was used in the rescue. i'm joined by captain chris courtney. he was the pilot in the rescue. >> we came back, did a hot refuel and headed down south to the big suhr area, we had chp on scene, they were giving us help to get us to the location of the vessel. once we got on scene, the vessels engine was running. it was lifting to the left. right when we got there they had to cut the engines because the swells were six to 8 feet. once we've determined what the best course of action to rescue them, we sent the rescue person down. we recovered the second gentleman who was in his 30s. both of these men were a father and son duo that do this trip yearly up to canada. >> reporter: any indication what went wrong

i'm ken wayne. >> i'm heather holmes.ce are in the progress of clear the scene at that busy intersection in walnut creek. eric arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and he has new information to tell us now about the victims. >> reporter: we do. in the last 30 minutes or so we had a chance to speak to police. they confirmed what we have been hearing from witnesses. one woman was killed out here. they said a second female, they aren't giving age, a second female was taken to a local hospital in what they call grave condition. even though they cleared this scene, it happened right over here on this corner here on main street. witnesses say the driver of oh red pickup truck was speeding down main a little after 6:00 when he appeared to lose control and slammed into a family on the sidewalk. one woman as we mentioned, a mother was thrown across the street and died. the driver and another female were transported to a local hospital. i spoke with managers at the marriott. valet workers were so shaken. up they had to be s

i'm ken wayne. >> hello everybody i'm julie haener. an act of terrorism that's how investigators are targeting that fire that targeted the office of vallejo's mayor. the motive is unclear and they're asking why. >> reporter: they're asking anyone who knows anything about this fire for tipless. it's boarded up now but overnight the front office of this law firm was gutted. from the start it looked like arson, a fire at 1:30 in the morning and a locked up building. >> every smoke building throughout, it's a suspicious fire. >> reporter: suspicious enough, teams from the fbi and atf will join the investigation. the office is shared by vallejo major ozzy davis who came to the scene along with his law partner michael thompson who he led away from the building. visibly upset. >> reporter: we're classifying this as a class of domestic terrorism. >> reporter: the office sits across the street from the courthouse so surveillance cameras may provide clues. the neighborhood gets its share of random vandalism, but the fire is much worse than anyth
