scott chan was on the dive trip along with his 26-year-old daughter kendra.joined life from american high school the fremont where counselors are available for students and faculty today. christina?>>> that is right. they are hoping the students will take advantage of the resource because so many people are affected by the passing of scott chan. he was a teacher here at least for the past three years with this district. he was teaching ap physics mour his daughter as well, kendnd th a bond over diving. they took at least two boating trips per year to the channel islands. we spoke with his wife who dropped off her husband on friday night. she drove up from oxford and it is a boat the family had been on many times before. they knew the risk associated with diving, but a boat fire never cross through vicki's mind. she is struggling. she is in shock and disbelief over losing her husband and losing her daughter. really, the staff and students here at american high school are in shock as well. a lot of students are really upset by his passing.>> i could tell that h

. >> reporter: one of our viewers kendra thompson asked on our news facebook page what about people whors visiting from out of state. i personally went to a car rental company to find out what their policy was. i found out that the big rental companies do have a tolling program, but it comes with a fee. so in this case, if you just drive through we will pay a $3.95 surcharge on top of the cost of the toll but as the transportation district told us, there are cheaper options. >> you can do that online. you can pay by phone. >> reporter: another viewer andrea takemoto asked what about the people that work in the toll booths? are they going to be out of work. the short answer is they will have other toll takers. the toll authority estimates they will speed up time by three to seven minutes. the golden gate bridge saw immediate results. tolling 500 vehicles per lane per hour moved through the plaza. after cashless tolling, that number went up to 1500 per lane every hour. and isn't that what we all want a seamless commute? inyanne melend melendez, abc 7 news. >> seamless commute sounds nice.

and he was on board with his daughter kendra who is a marine biologist in southern california. and he posted a picture on facebook of himself diving with the post "my daughter lives in ventura and it's an excuse to visit her. she was also on board this boat. >> i group scuba diving here in the channel islands. i would go with my dad every year. and i love it. i grew up fortunate to have parents that were both majored in science. >> reporter: that was video from u.s. fish and wildlife talking about how she got her start in the field. father and daughter shared the passion of diving and now the families are in mourning as well as likely people in fremont but at this point everyone on board was presumed dead. fremont unified school district says mr. chan was beloved teacher, his students knew him to be an innovative and inspiring teach here developed a passion for physical, among his students. his loss is a tremendous tragedy. he's been teaching here at american high school for three years. we will talk to the school later. but likely they will will be having grove counselors on c
