kenneth moten has more. >> reporter: hamilton township police were all over the scene after they say the officers were forced to open fire on a man who was attacking his parents with a knife. >> i think that's sick and disturbing if you ask me. any man whose going to touch his parents and try to kill them there's something wrong. >> reporter: our camera was on the ground after the 5:30 p.m. shooting. police got a domestic call. two officers say when they entered the home, the 36-year-old suspect was on top of his 54-year-old father stabbing him. officers advised him to drop the knife. he continued to stab the other while in the apartment. >> reporter: during the violent attack the man stabbed his 54-year-old mother who was trying to break up the fight. hamilton police believe the officers made the right move. the suspect and is parents were transported to the capital health injured, but alive. >> the officers saved the individuals from serious bodily harm. >> it's shocking. you don't expect anything though happen here, it's very calm over here. i walk my dog and take my kids out for

reporting live in university city, kenneth moton, "channel 6 action news." >> sharee. >> kenneth thank you. shooting in delaware tonight led to a police chase that went through two states and edged with crash in delaware county. this all started in wilmington after 6:00 and police say a man and woman were shot at 2nd and mop row streets. the man has serious injuries and the woman expected to be okay. they drove on to 95 and led police in fullsome pennsylvania and that's where police arrested two people after they crashed. >> police are trying to piece together a hilt and run that left a 25-year-old man from mount laurel dead taken happened 10:30 last night in the 900 block of delaware avenue in northern liberties. police say the man was running across the street when he was struck. investigators have questioned a man that they are calling a possible person of interest. his car has been impounded and it's also being searched. >> and philadelphia police are also investigating a shooting in city's hunting park section this afternoon. and that left a man critically injured. just before 4:0

kenneth, what's the situation there?jim, the information is still coming in but we have confirmed that firefighters are definitely looking for the homeowner. they got as far back tonight, and the scene about a half mile down this country road where you see the emergency lights. let me get you closer. from chopper 6 and from the ground we see the flames shooting from this two-story house. and the heavy smoke as firefighters work to get it under control. the call came in around 7:30 on point pleasant pike in plumstead township. we are told firefighters had a tough time with this one because the house was packed with items, a possible hoarding situation that really fueled this fire. neighbors say the home belongs to a man who lived here more than two decades and rarely leaves his home. in fact his vehicle was still in the driveway which is why firefighters say at this point he is unaccounted for. >> pretty much stuck to himself, you know. he was a little bit different, but he didn't cause any problems. so he did hoard a lot
