kenneth chamberlain is pronounced dead. now joining me is criminal defense attorney mark geragos, also marcia clark former los angeles deputy district attorney and the author of "guilt by degrees" also former police officer lou palumbo joins us as well. mark, are you surprised that the grand jury chose not to indict the officer who shot kenneth chamberlain? >> it's fairly outrageous that they did not. but i'm not surprised. the only time a grand jury will not indict is in -- it's always an outlyer is when it's a police officer, or one of the reasons why they didn't take george zimmerman's case in front of a grand jury down in florida, you might have seen a grand jury reject that indictment. it's in those very rare instances where somebody -- you've got somebody who's got a kind of a favorable image in front of a grand jury. because remember the grand jury is usually composed of very pro-prosecution, pro-law enforcement, older, retired type people. that's who can afford to sit on them. >> marcia, for accuracy, there's a lot of details we don't have that no doubt the grand jury did have. but kenneth chamberlain's niece was ou
