kent island with a sunset we see there.finish to the day on kent island in the eastern shore. temperature at freezing in baltimore. most spots just above it. very little wind to speak of. this will be a player tomorrow. bringing in milder air and the sunshine around. significant warm up compared to the cool days in the 40s we'll bounce up at or close to 60 tomorrow. so clear across the east coast. it's quiet weather wise. as we look at the pattern you can see why, it's chilly and dry with high pressure offshore. canadian air mass coming in with the wind saturday, settling in through the day today or i should say before midnight tonight across the area and as by look at monday, this goes further offshore and generates the return for the south wind to replace the temps locked in across the northeast with these temperature which are in the mid-50s toward memphis and montgomery and that air will shift north tomorrow. it will be a significant warm up. the trend will change toward midweek. crystal clear through the day tomorrow.

those winds on kent island all coming in from the west/northwest. it is that clockwise flow around that high bringing in very dry, very comfortable air. that is going to be with us right on through tomorrow. let's look at this. the high pressure is responsible for all of this nice, mild air and clear skies that is around the mid-atlantic now. this storm system that is now developing in the gulf is going to pick up moisture and start heading our way. by tomorrow morning, it's going to be around alabama. by sunday morning, it's going to be moving up toward the carolinas. and by sunday evening, it's going to be exiting off the carolina coastline. the key here is just how close it stays to the coastline. the closer it stays, the more snow we get, the farther east and south, the more rain we get. and if it's really far south, we may get nothing at all out of this. and that is the real key here. high pressure is going to ease on off here. cool air is in place. we'll start to see this by early on sunday afternoon. by mid- to late evening, we'll start to se
