kent island looking at one of those fantastic friday sun sets. look at that, outstanding. all right. let's get into it. maryland's most powerful radar. it's clear and radar should stay clear through monday evening before we have the slightest chance of a shower. right now temperature wise you can see the contrast. central maryland still hovering near 50. central western maryland 40s and 32 out in oakland. you get the idea. there is colder air to the north and west. with the steady wind it will continue to funnel in. we'll be down to 30s tonight and struggle to get out of the 40s tomorrow. we'll get to the upper 40s. winds gusting now to 30. they were gusting to 40 in the last hour or two, so beginning to diminish a little bit. the atmosphere is a little mixed up, more so in the afternoon. we should see the winds relent. you can see the cold front that came through and brought all the gusty winds. that's all the way down into savannah, georgia and cooler drier air punching in is going to be the theme tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night a true cold shot but a brief short lived

kent island. as we take a look at the extended scan north, you can see through pennsylvania, a couple of wintry type showers toward williams point. this is fizzling out. temperature wise, 50 in winchester now. 37 in hagerstown. you get the idea there's some colder air that will funnel. tonight we're not mid-50s but the northwest winds will keep pushing in cooler and cooler air tonight. tomorrow a struggle, i think to get out of the 40s for most of us. highs today were in the low 60s. this is little ms. leading -- misleading. it had not made it into the inner harbor, d.c. or annapolis or cambridge, so these numbers were just after midnight. we never quite warmed up through the day. across the region you can see clearly the front that came through. you can she that boundary just offshore. this will continue to push further and further out. as it does so, it will help drag in cooler air. as we look at the overall pattern, again, those renegade showers. cooler air wrapping in behind this thing. very dry conditions across most of the eastern u.s. this will be a brief shot but quite a cold shot and very d

to stay here for a while and again this is the winter. 72 degrees baltimore, look at all these 70s, 67 in annapolis, kent island but as we get the effects of the water that water is still in the 40 degree zone so those temperatures will drop over the next couple of hours. we do have a northwest wind in effect, normally that is a cooler wind for us but look at what is upstream? 70 in chicago, 62 in detroit. this is not all that cool so we are still pulling from a new round of warm air. this is how everything comes together. high pressure is in control right now. it is just gorgeous outside. there are a couple of different fronts that move our way starting tomorrow. one is off to the north here, way up here in canada. that is going to come down from the north. at the same time there is one out to the west here. and they sort of converge toward us tomorrow. we will see more clouds mix in. then on friday that northern one sort of gets deflected by this western one and it is behind that northern one that the chilly air is so we are sort of keeping it away as this western one comes in, when it does a chance for showe

kent island, annapolis, 69. a light east/northeast wind. keeping us a little in that marine air, at least for tonight. tonight look for fog. fog this morning. west of the bay, patchy fog again tonight. didn't see any rain today. so we probably won't see as much fog as we saw this morning. had a little rain last night. the area picked up about 4/100ths of an inch. this is where the rain is. gulf moisture streaming northward. the jet stream. it's warm here. cooler out here. in fact, pretty cold in the west and northwest. shower and thunderstorm activity this afternoon. iowa into texas and oklahoma. some areas picking up 6 or 10 inches of rain. tremendous amounts of rain. the flow into the gulf of mexico, feeding that. beginning to thin out a little bit. some of that rain will be here, we think, friday, saturday, probably late friday, saturday and sunday. and a good chance we'll see cooler temps. and yes, some rain. and we definitely need that rain. it's been quite dry. warm and dry. and it's going to stay warm and dry. temperatures probably around 80 degrees. chicago today, was 84 degrees. we could easily get to the low 80s.
