a lot of flooding in areas of indiana, kentucky missouri. i know st.uis saw a couple of rounds of storms. tornadoes reported in rural areas. you can see some of the wind damage. a lot more of that throughout the day. in all yesterday, we saw about almost 300 reports of severe storms. the tornadoes were found around areas of kansas. it looks like we're going to see some of these same areas today especially in illinois with some of the worst weather. a lot of lightning with these storms. the big round, the most severe will be late this afternoon toward this evening. the area of orange is an enhanced rick of storm. chicago, st. louis, indianapolis, down through memphis, paducah, little rock and sheave support. we could see a couple of tornadoes. likely occurring in portions of illinois and indiana a little later this evening. not a big tornado outbreak but it only takes one. and friday heads up for the eastern seaboard. the thunderstorms come out way. wind damage threat. if you have a late afternoon flight out of d.c. new york philadelphia, richmond charl

kentucky. the severe weather in the midwest and the south expected to continue today. i want to bring in the weather channel's mike seidel in cape girardeau, missouri my friend. what can folks expect for this easter weekend? >> reporter: well before we get to easter weekend, a lot of issuing, and back to louisville craig. i'm not the fire trucks had a problem getting there. there's been tremendous flash flooding in that city that area, and a lot of kentucky of course. this morning upwards of six inches's rain. the rain moved out of louisville but it takes a while to drain. some of the aqueducts on the interstates filled up with eight, nine foot of water. blue skies here in cape girardeau. back in branson, wind damage. golf ball-sized hail. last night a few tornadoes reported. the damage reports, minor. nothing like last wednesday, and now looking off to the west and south. ominous skies as storms head that way. radar shows rain heading out of missouri. nashville towards lexington, all the way down to huntsville watch out for severe storms this afternoon. still that tornado threat. here in this part of the world waiting for the cold front to come th

missouri and parts of texas. and this storm system is on the move this morning. we do have a concern still, for additional tornadoes across parts of ohio kentucky, there are watchesas well. damaging winds and large hail is another issue. and as we head into this afternoon, the storm system races eastward and southward. so parts of texas parts of the gulf coast, and along the east coast, all the way up to parts of the mid-atlantic, you are looking at a risk for severe weather. so make sure you have a way to get those warnings. again, the concerns today will be damaging winds large hail and also some isolated tornadoes. but the risk was a lot greater yesterday out here in northern illinois. we knew that the risk was in place. and unfortunately, the tornadoes did form from some of these storms rotating yesterday afternoon. back to you in new york. >> okay, maria. thank you very much. a tornado watch in effect for parts of ohio and kentucky until 8:00 eastern time. and then tornado rather thunderstorm watch in effect for same portions of ohio until 10:00 this morning. >> that's right. we'll keep eyes on that. in the meantime, we'll turn to a busy morning today. >> by
