dan kerman kron. 4 news. all right, and this just in. we've got an evacuation warning. it's in place for those living near the russian river in sonoma county. the map on your screen. it shows the affected areas. >> this thing is pretty. >> brought it stretching all the way from healdsburg to the coast just to jenner. the sonoma county sheriff says the river is expected to peak at 33 feet tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning. the water level expected to drop sometime tomorrow afternoon. but is expected to rise even higher on sunday night. so anybody who is below the 40 foot flood level being asked to be prepared to leave at a moment's notice. we want to have your go bags ready to go with essential medicines and that's very important that you are ready to go. and we've seen the russian river. >> flood historically. so that certainly can happen as we continue to track this rain that's moving through as we speak again, expect the russian river to be higher on sunday. we're expecting rain not only tonight, which is what we see right here on storm tracker. 4 r

kron four's dan kerman reports now near river road. that's just west of santa rosa with where some cars got stuck in flooded waters today. >> this was the scene about 7.30, monday morning. 2 drivers drove into the flood waters on slusser road just off river road and had to be rescued by the sonoma county fire district by afternoon. flood waters had receded somewhat, but the cars were still there. officials say the storms caused mark west creek to overflow into this vineyard in that water and up flooding the road. the storms also caused trouble in santa rosa didn't take much for a number of our to get upon the nuisance, flooding to occur across town. and actually in one case. >> colgan creek on the south end of town actually went over its banks. >> flooding shut down the principal morial greenway to bikes and pedestrians in santa rosa. more downed trees and flooding are expected in sonoma county both tonight and this weekend, emergency responders say residents should use the break in the storm to prevent further trouble. >> the clogs de
