main street in the kershaw county town of bethune could see some major changes. town leaders are looking at putting in several surveillance cameras -- that would feed video to the town's police department. this all comes after several downtown storefronts were burglarized over the last month. our mike desumma explains the plan. judi police were able to arrest and charge a suspect in connection with those break ins -- 7 in total over the course of a month. surveillance video from stores on main street -- played a big role in helping investigators get a description to work with. the town's camera plan is very preliminary at this point -- but it calls for placing nine cameras along parts of highway 1 as well as highway 341 near downtown bethune. from those points the cameras could feed video back to the police station -- and hold it for a period of two months. cost $25,000 for the camera equipment alone. some business owners on main street feel that cost is worth paying. that includes owners of the bethune meat market -- which was one of the stores targeted by thiev

a kershaw county man is behind bars thanks to a deputy's body camera. wednesday and charged with making a false police report. deputies say last week drakeford accused one of the deputies of pushing him and using racially- charged language against him during an arrest at the taco bell in lugoff for disorderly conduct. drakeford filed a formal written complaint with the sheriff's office. investigators reviewed footage from the deputy's body camera and found drakeford lied about the incident. five people are facing multiple charges after investigators say they tried to use fake money. officers say someone tried to use two fake 20 dollar bills at the burger king inside the sunset boulevard walmart earlier this week officers say they eventually found the person who tried to use the 20 dollar bill and chargeed the person who tried to use the 20 dollar bill and arrested them along with two others. all three have been charged with forgery and criminal conspiracy. investigators also recovered additional counterfeit money, a printer, paper, paper cuttings, metha
