meteorologist kevin corriveau tells us what's ahead. kevin. >> a stormy night for people much across the northeast. let's go closer in. the thunderstorms have been rolling through foster for the la 24 hours. video that came out of western new york, this is bennington, 30 feet of highway was washed away because of flooding there. residents say this is the worst they've seen in about 40 years. now today new haven, connecticut. very heavy floodings across the region. cars had to be rescued in some of the low lying areas. and unfortunately, the weather is going to continue. very heavy thunderstorms pushing through parts of new york. behind it, the heaviest rain is going to be in upstate new york, where we are looking for flash flood warnings there, if you are driving on any of the rural roads you need to be careful, especially the low water crossings. at night, it's difficult to see where that water is, flork clearing on saturday. temperatures rising on sunday but it's just going to be all sun and how about monday, 86° there. the weather is

our meteorologist kevin corriveau has been tracking and joins us with more. evin. >> very impressive video out of nebraska. i'm going to show you the storm, here you see the storm moving to parts of wisconsin, we'll get to that in just a moment. i want to take you back to parts of nebraska, stanton, nebraska where a double tornado was video taped. you don't often see that. these tornadoes were in a very rural area. no one was hurt, no one was damaged in this area. unfortunately, a little further to the northeast, and pigler, this is what it looked like. we saw devastation here. most of the town was basically destroyed. this is a small town, it's about one and a half square miles each way. one person died, 16 people are in critical condition here. they're guesstimating right now until they can actually put some people out that it is between an ef 3 and ef 4 tornado. come back to the weather wall, significant situations going on now. as i said wisconsin and parts of iowa, these are the two areas we're going to be watching now as the storm continues to move throu

are are >> good evening, i'm mobltion kevin corriveau. this is representative of what we're seeing across many parts of minnesota, south dakota, nebraska, flooding going on we have seen areas that have seen record breaking amounts of rain. just for the day, just for the week, as well as minneapolis has seen a yearly record being broken so far. unfortunately i'm going to show new just a few minutes we are looking at more rain coming into the forecast. take a look at, thunderstorms right here, in some of the worst flooding over the last couple of days. flood warnings are in effect of course. mostly on the river areas. as you can see, the red river, the big sioux river as well as the mississippi river. what's going to happen is a lot of the water will be making its way down the rivers so these floodwaters will make their way towards the south. a little bit lighter rain in the area, sunday unfortunately we're going oget a lot more rain and that's also going to transition into monday as well. we expect to see five to civil x inches of rain. so

. >> good evening i'm meteorologist kevin corriveau. week long we have been seeing severe weather across the southern parts of the united states. tonight is no exception. first of all anywhere from parts of arkansas, mississippi, alabama, georgia, mostly clouds in this area but we do have warnings out for severe thunderstorms. we'll be watching very closely. atlanta you're out of the rain but the forecast, we do expect to see more of the thunderstorms popping up over the weekend as well. here across the high plains we're seeing a lot of worst weather. over a dozen tornadoes. those line of thunderstorms all the way from nebraska into the pan handled opanhandle of texas. the warnings are still in effect. take a look at the warnings right now. those bright reds those are the tornado warnings. four states with tornado warnings in effect. those are very dangerous, those will continue for the next several hours. tomorrow unfortunately i don't have much better news. we are looking at severe weather across northern texas, parts of missouri as w

kevin corriveau is here with the story. >> last night was a bad night for nebraska. we saw 19 tornados for the whole state. two in the town here. pilgra is a small town. the double tornados went through the center of the down, destroying 75% of the area. look at the distribution. we have the video there. you can see how badly it was. 100 prz of the initial -- 100% of the initial area is gone. as we go towards the evening, we are looking at worse weather coming into play, look at the satellite radar, and over the last couple of hours more storms developed and the north-east of nebraska, and there's tornado warnings in effect for the same area. it will be another rough night for that region. i want to take you to the border of arizona and mexico. there's red flag warnings. take a look at the fires that have been coming out of the region. this is the nava hoe region, 12,000 acres have been burnt. people are evacuating. they are having a difficult time controlling it because of dry and windy conditions. >> coming up on the defensive - dr oz grilled on capitol hill about

. >> good evening, i'm meteorologist kevin corriveau. over the last six hours, ohio has been pummeled by severe weather. severe thunderstorm watch boxes out, in this region alone we have seen over 100 wind damage reports. that's what we're going to see with winds gusting over 75 miles per hour across the region. also power outages are going to be a major problem here as well. going a little further back towards the west we are very concerned about what's happening across south dakota and north dakota, just in the past two hours we've seen nine tornadoes, eight of those were in south dakota, one in north dakota. bright reds located, that is where tornadoes are imminent or on the ground. you see the yellow areas that is tornado watches where we think tornadoes are going to pop up a little bit later. and unfortunately here in northeast nebraska that is another area and we've seen tornadoes there over the last several days. the other big problem is going to be the amount of rain. we have seen a lot of rain just in the last couple of days and

kevin corriveau is here to track it for us. >> here it is on the satellite. you can see the eye there. christina is the third storm in the pacific. in the last 15 minutes we want to update you that the category of the storm came down to a category 3. it's a quick change we have seen. every 6-12 hours we see an update on the hurricane. what will happen is the storm is going to be moving out here towards the west. it doesn't mean we are not going to see an impact on the land anywhere from here to porta on the coast. we'll see a strong storm surge and feeder band away from the storm, producing heavy rain showers. we could see localized flooding across the area. we'll watch that over the nu. couple of days. >> for the atlantic, june 1st was the beginning. things are quiet, all the way back to africa. that's where we normally see the waves form. things are quite. i want to tell you, looking at wrong-range forecasts, across honda center and nicaragua, we could see the first system. it's a little too far away to make a determination, but we'll watch that area as wel

meteorologist kevin corriveau has followed all of it for us. kevin. >> across the mississippi river valley, we are talking about what has happened in minnesota. take a look at the video that has come in about water laying across areas of fields, low lying areas, we are not seeing a lot of rain anymore but this water is beginning odrain into the minnesota river. what that is going to cause is water to surge as it makes its way down the river. the threat of flooding is going ocontinue more towards the south every day. iowa they are dealing with the flooding and the rain in a little bit different way. these kayakers are getting out there and because the rapids are so high, they are taking advantage, you don't want to try had on a beginner level. but any threat that thi going to change. flash flood warnings and flood warnings, mississippi valley, missouri river, that is going ocontinue over the flex few days but unfortunately no rain is expected there. on the south, take a look, across arkdz we are expected to see three to -- across arkansas we are

meteorologist kevin corriveau is here with the latest. >> that's right. this is part of the same system that brought us all the tornados we saw in the last couple of evenings. tonight it was a little different. we saw rain with the storm system from minnesota, from wisconsin and iowa. look at the shots. you can see the flooding. there are flood watches. some have been dropped. it will take a while for some of the water to go down, to last for the next 4-7 days. there'll be flooded areas. coming back, you can see what we are looking at. earlier we are looking across parts of minnesota. >> minneapolis had the second wettest june on record. as well as minnesota is now seeing the wettest year, as we start from january through now. a lot of rain across the region, here are the warnings. earlier we saw a lot across the region, it doesn't mean we will not see flooding. a little more towards the east with the same system pushing towards parts of virginia, there has been a lot of severe weather moving out of virginia, and we are deal with some in parts of north ca

. >> good evening, i'm meteorology kevin corriveau. go through the week, creating in terms of flooding as well as at the airports, philadelphia, new york metro areas. look at the band that came through earlier. another band coming through parts of pennsylvania now. these are the rain totals that we saw just in the last 24 hours, anywhere to four inches down to two and a half inches in stewartsville, as well. a lot of flooding. in upstate new york where you see the flash flooding extremely dangerous. especially driving at night, rural roads. upstate new york and new jersey and eastern parts of pennsylvania. this is going to be a problem. tomorrow in parts of boston it's going to be a rainy day. that is going to get better as we go towards the rest of the weekend, beginning of the week. things dry out for new york. better conditions starting tomorrow. a lot of that rain is going to be make its way out overtime overnight. down through the night, rain throwd the weekend, very warm conditions. that is a look at your national weather, your n

kevin corriveau has been tracking it. >> we have seen storms already. look at nebraska. we are clear. towards evening the thunder storms are popping up. they are popping up in the same areas we have seen a lot of damage in terms of tornados. now we are dealing with hail as well as wind. this is what we are looking at. wait until you see the pinks and oranges, where the severe thunder storms are. where you see the greens that's where the flooding threat is for the weekend. the red river, the big sioux river and the mississippi, you see how the flood warnings and watches are on opposite sides of where the rivers are. the rain will continue. saturday doesn't look too bad. when we get to sunday we expect heavy rain through the region it will continue towards monday. just in this region we are expecting to see 5-6 inches of rain on top of areas that are saturated that cannot hold any more. the flooding threat will go through the weekend and into next week and i expect that we'll see the flood watches up and going all the way through wednesday and thursday. back to you. >>> tw

. >>> good evening, i'm meteorologist kevin corriveau. before getting to the flooding i'll take to you new england where we saw incredible amounts of rain. things have cleared over the last 24-48 hours. these are the totals that we saw from new york to maine. hudson new york we saw six numbers of, stanford maine four numbers of. they are clearing up and things will be drier over the next couple of days. unfortunately, where it will not be drier is across the northern plains. we have been talking about the same scenario for 10 days, and massive flooding is going on. we have rain showers pushing through parts of iowa, and watching what is happening back here, coming up from the rockies and into the dakotas. the flash flooding, definitely the large rivers are cresting and the rivers will remain above average until the next two to 2.5 weeks. look at the flooding situations. out here to the west, there's flash flood watches. on friday that's what we are looking at. tomorrow there's not much of a change. that's a look at the weather. news is af

kevin corriveau is there with that. >> we'll take you to oregon. that's where we see the latest wildfires. look at the video from hood river. crews are out there battling the fires. it's over 50 acres, and we expect them to get bigger. they are dealing with gusty winds. we are in a prolonged drought going on for years across the region, but are in the dry season. radar - there's no rain, sunny skies. going down towards california, we'll take you to sacramento. they put signs out about saving water. that killed the lawn. the fir hatcheries in california are -- fish hatcheries in california are releasing the fish because they are running out of waters and the temperatures are rising and that means that they cannot sustain the fish in the hatcheries, and they'll put them back into the rivers. the drought situation is anywhere from severe. wait until you see the dark areas. that is it exceptional drought across the region. we are in the dry season. this will not get better until we get towards october and never. >>> coming up, death in custody, the kil

kevin corriveau is here with the latest on that. >> we have been talking about this for many nights. things are not changing. we have a kind of stuck weather pattern, causing a lot of storms to regenerate ooeping after evening. right now we are seeing them coming across nebraska and into kansas. i want to show you fresh video coming in from parts of minnesota, you can see the flooding. yesterday some from the twin city, and it was where the cresting of the mississippi river was at its peak. unfortunately we are seeing more of this. the water is slowly going down the mississippi river. northern plains, central plains. what we'll see is a lot of water will be making its way to the south. this is what we are looking at now. the main concern will be minnesota, iowa, as well as into wisconsin. the flooding is going on, we have new flooding happening to the dakotas, and that's where the storms are moving in. rain is heavy. severe weather. we expect to see a lot of wind and hail damage and a lot of rain on saturated soil. sunday, more rain towards parts of iowa, as we go towards monday, tha

kevin corriveau is here with the latest on that. >> nebraska has been pounded all through the afternooninto the evening the the thunder storms continue to build up across the region, of course, we are seeing that in iowa as well. i want to show you video that came in from omaha. look at this. severe flooding. because of the constant rain going on across the region. let's show you other video across the area. we were looking as the storm clouds were pushing through. believe it or not we saw between one to two inches of hail, wind gusts up to 80 to 100 miles per hour, and this caused problems on the road as well. the hail that i mentioned caused destructive damage not only to homes, but trees. we saw a lot of power lines down. this will continue through the rest of the evening. coming back to the weather wall, we are looking at storms pushing through. was nebraska, it was iowa, now looking to parts of mississippi as well. that will continue. if you travel tomorrow, chicago, indiana, we'll have major problems. so far this evening, believe it or not, there has been over 220 storm damage rep

kevin corriveau has been tracking all this and has more. >> every single day of this week we have seen severe weather push across the united states. first of all, i'll take you here to south dakota and take a look at the video that came through. we saw golf ball-sized hail not only for south dakota, but it was flooding. it was a major problem across the region. down to sell eacha cannes cas, it was the wind damages. a lot of people without power and a lot of powerlines were down. over to kansas, where we saw quite a bit of damage, over 150 reports of wind damage was reported today. this was the storm and as it made its way through, it caused a lot of problems, moving down to the south-east. as we look down the south-east, when it turns to the damage, this was a line, where you see the yellow dots, the areas of winds, in excess of 70 miles per hour. down to parts of the atlanta, the storm moving through caused delays at the airport. we have seen most of the storms. tomorrow, unfortunately, we are looking at the same scenarios as what we saw today. >> coming up, in solidarity, three al j
