kevin corriveau is with us. >> leaving a lot of places flooded on top of areas that were also floodedweeks ago. now today we have seen a lot of thunderstorms here across parts of northern texas even southern texas as well. the flash flood warnings are out, flood warnings are across the trinity red and mississippi river areas. we will probably not see much of a change in this over the next week. this area will stay flooded for a very long time. well here across the south we're dealing with not the flooding but the heat in this area and this has been going on all week long. with temperatures five to 15° above average for this time of year. so this time charlotte you're going to be 99° with a heat index of over 100. for orlando 96 and for atlanta 96 as well but as we go towards the rest of the country you can see washington is going to hit by the time we get to tuesday we'll see washington hit 100 with triple digits about 104. heat index feex how phoenix how about 112 for you and miami you're not looking too bad this is about the norm you would see for this time of year. >> all right kev

kevin corriveau has been tracking a rather nasty spring so far and joins us, good evening, kevin. >> a lot of this water is going to be making its way down from the red river to the mississippi river as we go into next weekend. i want to show you the flood warnings in effect now. where you see this stripe right here green where those flood warnings are that is red river we're talking about shreveport right here, they're about to crest this evening into the morning. middle to the end of the week we'll need to be concerned what happens a little bit downstream down towards the south. it will take three or 74 days to get from shreveport down to the south. it's also parts of texas that are still draining out from that record breaking amount of rain that has fallen over that region. today we are watching what's happening here across parts of illinois and indiana. thunderstorms have caused quite a problem over that region. wind and hail, as well as a few tornadoes in the area. look at the extent of those wind reports that have come out as well as hail reports. particularly here in parts of

back to americas, kevin corriveau in this part of the world. >> we're watching tropical storm. this was a category four hurricane. it's been down are graded to a tropical storm but we need to be watching it. the reason being we'll see quite a bit of rain and we expect flash flooding coming out of this storm. let's take a look right now. the track to the west of cabo cabo san lucas. we saw hurricane bring devastation to the area, this is our track right here. we expect to see a tropical storm when it makes landfall. then it will become a depression. notice how close it gets to the southern borders of the united states. we expect rain across arizona as well as into new mexico over the next several days. well tonight we're looking at severe weather here and we looked at the thunderstorms anywhere from missouri, indiana and illinois, and you can see the very heavy signals that we have seen with that. we're not seeing tornadoes out of these events right now. but what we are seeing is winds and some of those winds are packing 80 mph--that's going to be a big problem. we're seeing tre

. >>> kevin corriveau has been tracking tropical storm bill and joins us with the latest. it could be a bad night. since making landfall. things are worse in terms of the flooding and causing severe weather. we are talking tornados that are in the storm. look at the bands, the yellows, the orange. they are the most dangerous. they have the most amount of rain coming out. we'll see the college station, it's this area here that we see the heaviest rains, over 6 inches of rain in 12 hours. houston, to the north of the city they see 2.5 inches of rain in 12 hours. i want to show you a warning in effect. look at the extensive area. hoouston, you are in a -- houston, you are in a tornado watch. later this evening, and into the morning, the tornado watch may edge uch a little bit into the suburbs of dallas and footworth, and extensive flood warnings and watches, all the way from most of the of central and eastern texas to oklahoma. we have the newest track of the storm not changing too much. it came out at 11 o'clock. we thing with the next 3-6 hours, and may drop to a tropical d

kevin corriveau has been tracking all of those storms.ou said that hail piled up. >> meteorologist: it did pile up. we saw some reports of two to three feet. they had to get their shovels out, and it would be tremendous to see that type of hail in your driveway. we're looking at weather in colorado. we saw a tornado earlier but later tonight as we can see we're really seeing a lot of development here across south dakota, nebraska, as well as iowa. it's a late start for the evening, but that's going to be the area that we're going to be watching as we go through the next couple of hours. there is that tornado that we talked about. there are a couple of tornadoes down towards utah, but i'm concerned about what is going to be happening as this storm moves to the southeast in nebraska, iowa. we do have watches around warnings out in that area. especially the evening hours you can't see that convective weather of thunderstorms. keep these radios on especially for that region. now tomorrow we expect another severe weather day here across parts

now kevin corriveau brings us the latest on where it is headed next. >> as we move through the rest of day, the big problem with bill is going to be the amount of flooding we get. we're still going to see severe weather down towards the coast of texas. storms pushing up through dallas bringing a lot of rain with it. we don't see the winds but definitely a lot of rain. notice the cells pushing up towards the coast. we could see severe weather and the possibility of tornados by tomorrow we think that threat will be over. the biggest threat after texas is going to be what is going to happen here in parts of oklahoma. if you remember last month, oklahoma saw four times the amount of rain for the month of may that they would normally see, so they are already saturated and expected to get a lot of rain. as we go towards friday then the threat moves a little bit more towards the northeast. we're talking about arkansas missouri, even st. louis may get it as we go towards friday night. here is your five-day forecast. heavy rain today, by the time we get to friday things start to clear out. for

. >> thank you stephanie to talk about that we're joined by kevin corriveau, he has the latest on the flooding that's being caused by the storm and a lot of serious warnings out tonight. >> absolutely, it was 36 hours ago when we saw this storm. the storm center is making its way to oklahoma. but for south texas we're seeing the worst flooding right now. talk going this particular area, i want to show you the radar zooming into this area, especially through alice texas we saw over eight and a half inches of rainfall in just a six hour period, in this particular area. while we think alice is going to be out of i.t. soon we are still dealing -- out of it soon we are still dealing with a lot of it near brownsville. the storm making its way to the oklahoma border, dallas and fort worth, i don't think you'll be seeing too much in the way of rain. but down here in the south these rain bands have been pushing through and very heavy rain one to two inches of rain per hour coming out of there. we're going to be watching through oklahoma through the night and tomorrow because we're going to be

meteorologist kevin corriveau has been tracking bill and joins us with the last thing that texas needs. >> that's what this storm will bring, rain. this is the storm system here it has increased in intensity. it will be a tropical storm when it makes landfall. here to the south of houston, along the coast, we'll see 7-8am landfall there. now, with this system. we may not see the system getting weaker because of what's called the ground ocean effect. it is so saturated to keep the storm sustained to keep it sustained as a storm. look at this to the south-west of dallas we are looking at a tropical depression expected in the region. the rain will be incredible out of the storm. we will not see the wind but will see precipitation. locally, rain down in houston, and to the south of dallas. we'll be watching it. flooding is exceptional in may. as i said rain falling across the region that is why so many watchers and warnings are out across the area. it only takes rain falling. to cause flash flood to happen. we are expecting more than that to happen across the region. >> the bush political

kevin corriveau tracked the heatwave and fire conditions, and they are not good. >> that's right, as we go to the end of the week we'll see more of the fires cross the region. the mechanism in place causing this is not moving. the area of high pressure you see that clockwise turning of the rain - that is causing a lot of heat across the region these are the wildfires in the tri-state area. there are rain showers pushing through. they didn't provide enough relief. with the showers, we have the possibility of lightening and that causes a double threat across the region not only with the heat. as we go towards tomorrow we are looking at temperatures, well above average. we are in a bit of a break. and 94 degrees at spokane is a break. we saw 112 on sunday tuesday, a little cooler. through the rest of the week look at the temperatures we'll look at the averages. 77 for portland oregon 97 degrees as we go towards thursday. seattle, a different swigsituation temperatures on the rise. spokane, 20 degrees above average. thursday, we are looking at 24 degrees above average. that fire threat w

kevin corriveau is here. kevin. >> normally we don't see as many tornadoes there as we do in the united states. we see hundreds of tornadoes. what we can see in china it's there along the coastal regions you have to have a body of award, south korea as well as japan but the yangtze river is definitely susceptible to tornadic activities. ten tornadoes compared to the united states 400 plus tornadoes we normally see in one year here. it could have definitely hatched but we did see the storms in the region. >> don't we have the technology nowadays to figure out whether a tornado might be coming, the conditions right? >> it's china versus the united states. they have different technology and when you talk about massive storms like this take a look at the satellite images, notice the huge thunderstorms that pushed through. they definitely saw this but in order to see a tornado you're actually looking for radar you're really accessing it in a different technology. they don't have the same warning system that we do i

is be kevin corriveau is here. >> more rainfall is coming to texas. over the next 72 hours this is our accumulation and especially down here towards the east coast as well as up here to the south of dallas we're looking to see anywhere between six and ten inches of rain. that means major flooding is going to go on in this area. we still have some rivers that are on flash watches and warnings across this area. so this rain is only going to cause more problems. andens where is it coming from? down here towards the south we are watching the storm developing off the coast of the yucatan. over the next several days most of the models are in fairly good agreement that this is what is going to happen. we only think it may get to a tropical storm strength but it has a lot of prescription precipitation inside of it. we are going to be watching that very carefully. heufort, take a look, five rain -- houston take a look, it's going to be five rainy days if not longer. southwest -- consume southeast clear skies under those clear skies temperatures are rising. tem

our meteorologist kevin corriveau is here. is it going to get worst kevin? >> we're looking at the storm staying in place the next 24 to 48 hours. where stephanie is located down here in el campo we are seeing many it of the communities under warnings and watches. much of central and eastern texas they're flash floored flood warnings towards oklahoma, san antonio, waco, just to the north of dallas, now towards louisiana as well, big big problem. a lot of that rain is still falling in the area. now dallas fort worth you are clearing out right now as the center of that storm goins make begins omake its way north. next 24 hours the showers are now making their way into the state, oklahoma city and tulsa are pick picking up the rain. the heaviest is tonight through tomorrow. we are watching very carefully. all this raven is going to be draining into the rivers, the red river and the trinity river. those flash flood warnings along the river will probably continue into the weekend as well. >> kevin thank you. >>> coming up inside the central american drug war fami

. >> for more on what those folks can expect let's bring in kevin corriveau. >> we are looking at still, more of the same. the temperatures that come down a little across the area. when you factor in the humidity and the heat index, we are talking about temperatures. i'll show you in a moment. well over 100 degrees. we are looking at dry conditions and waiting for the monsoon to kick in. it comes in over here for parts of india. for pakistan it brings the clouds and the rain and will not be a factor. in india, we saw 2300 people die because of the heat across this area. this is the forecast for karachi, along the coastal regions, temperatures remain until the mid 90s. the heat index is above 105. we are talking a lot of people without airconditioning and power outages across that area. across the united states we are looking at severe weather across parts of illinois. look at the radar, and now we are watching tornado watches across st. louis and down to missouri. and are looking at thunderstorm watches. this will stay nebula. we'll keep you informed. they tend to develop over the next

. >> our meteorologist kevin corriveau is here to talk about this heatwave.ll us more. >> well, we are in the middle of the summer. the monsoon season for them has not yet approached. i want to show you more about how that monsoon works. if you remember, in india just last month we were talking about over 1,000 people dying because of the heat. as we go through june what we see is more moisture coming in from the south. more moisture could coming from the east. fortunately for pakistan it's not until we get to the middle of july that we get the moisture in. we're talking about temperatures right now 15 degrees above average for them, but they're not really going to see those numbers drop until the middle of next month. unfortunately, we're not going to see too much of a break. but what we're see something a development of a low pressure in the arabian sea. they thought this was going to turn into a cyclone potentially, but this is still going to bring clouds and rain into that region and a little bit of relief. but we don't think it will be enough to break th

kevin corriveau joins us to talk about the weather. >> that's right. flash flooding is a big killer. we have a lot of weather this past weekend, and weather across much of the eastern sea board. we have two parts of that. we see rain to the north-east flooding to new england, as well as thunder storms down here along the gulf coast. it's really across parts of illinois and missouri that we were watching the thunder storms. we have a tornado watch that is in effect and includes parts of st. louis, up until about 11 o'clock. so we'll watch that carefully. over here towards missouri it's a thunderstorm watch, and they are not huge but will cause gusty winds and hail across to area. here across the south-west we are picking of showers. i want to show you the scale of circulation, know the clockwise circulation with the clouds and rain. it's an area of high pressure and is responsible for all of the heat we a seen across this area and palm springs at 104. notice the colours into the interior of california and the valley. we are talking about temperatures in

. >>> the west has been dealing with high temperatures kevin corriveau is here with the weather. >> that'sht. and we have been dealing with the temperatures for over a week. take a look at the temperature map. and by the colours, you can see the difference between the east and the west. let's go deeper. i want to show you what we are looking at. los angeles - 70 degrees, once you go inland we are talking about warm temperatures. when you add it to the drought situation, we are dealing with wildfires, this is a like fire. i want to share with you a video. we are talking 30,000 acres burnt so far across the region. as i said the drought situation that we have been talking about for months and over a year is not helping things at all. come back we'll show you what you can see. we see a 90% increase in the fire just to the east. it's 40% contained as we know. tomorrow the temperatures are going to be warm here across the central part of california and we don't expect it to change. warnings and watches are out. we saw the north-west that we are talking about. spokane washington idaho, 103 degre

we'll talk to kevin corriveau. you are talking about more rain for texas and oklahoma. >> that's right. we have seen flooding past flooding at the end of the week. i think coming up oklahoma which has had extraordinary flooding in may, may get more. we'll get into that in a moment. this is what we are looking at now in terms of where the warnings and the watches are in terms of flooding. the areas in blue and parts of utah in red. you can see colorado has a bit of flooding warning and watches in effect. take a look at video coming in out of denver. this was the end of the week the denver area. in some hours we were looking at two inches per hour falling in the area. of course that is too much for men of the drainage and sewers to handle, causing a lot of problems on the road, and a lot of problems with the businesses in that area. we have seen denver get a bit better over the last several hours, but take a look at the rain we are seeing in western colorado, as well as all the way to parts of new mexico. for parts o

kevin corriveau joining us with more. >> it's cold cooler.l take you and show you the radar and the satellite. look at the eastern sea bored. we see the rain from eastern new england and virginia. i want to take you back to this morning, to fort wane indiana and show you the damage sustained, and they saw 65 miles per hour winds pushing through there. over 30,000 people were without power. the power is coming on as the road crews get out there. they saw heavy rain and flooding that went on. that was a trend with these storms as the system pushed through. coming back to the wall - i want to show you the satellite and radar. look at the rain pushing through. there were watches and warnings out. we saw a toronto. even though the rain is beginning to subside as it pushes up here we are seeing flash flood warns in effect for parts of new jersey where they saw over four inches of rain across the region and towards maryland. that will be the problem overnight, and tomorrow we'll see a lot of heavy rain to the north-east. for new york it will be ligh

kevin corriveau is here with more. >> that's right. if you remember in may, we saw flood engine texas. texas will be under the watch, as we go through the next couple of days. i tell you why. we have a few isolated showers across eastern portions. last month we had thunderstorm after thunderstorm pushing through the area not only bringing severe weather but flooding. bringing the state out of the drought. look at the rain we expect to see in the next 72 hours, across much of the coastal regions, and across the central part. we are talking about 6-9 inches of rain. where is this water coming from? it's coming down from a tropical system that we think will be a tropical storm over the next couple of days. you see the circulation there. these are the computer models and the forecast of where the storm will be going. they are consistent on where it will be taken, across the gulf of mexico warming up gulf to raurts in the areas of the 83, 84 range across the area that's good fuel to start the storm and strength it. across the fufl of mexico

. >>> kevin corriveau here with the weather. to fight the fires out west when you don't have any water. >> that's right. you put the heat and the drought together, and they are thinking it will be one of the worst wildfire seasons they are going to see out here to the west. you can see on the temperature map the dips between the east and west coast. let's get into what the temperatures are lacking like now. as you can see, in off the coast of california, that's when we are dealing with it the wildfires, and now it is down towards the county that we are looking at the lake fire. look at the video. we are talking about 30,000 acres of area that has been burnt so far, and they don't have it half contained at the moment. so we are going to watch this carefully. we do not expect the temperatures in the area will get better and you take into consideration the very low humidity that they are looking at. we are talking about 19% increase from what the wild fair was from yesterday, and 30, 500 acres we expect to go up over the next coupl

our meteorologist kevin corriveau is here with more on the path of the storm. >> tonight we're going to be looking at a dangerous situation as we go into the nighttime hours things are beginning to get a little bit worse. first of all take a look at the radar. it was all the rain just north of victoria and to the west of houston. in this particular area right here we're having major problems going on. first of all there are tornado watches as well as tornado warnings in effect. that means tornadoes are emanant and we have all the ingredients for tornadoes to develop. take a look at all the flooding situations all the way through dallas. tomorrow this is what we expect it to look like. we have heavy rain continue to go the south. as the system moves to the north it will be north texas and oklahoma that gets quite a bit of rain as we go towards thursday the system progresses towards the northeast. notice all the rain right here. the flooding continues across parts of texas. this system is going to cause 72 hours worth of problems. >> ten, thank you very much. coming up next on this bro
