i should note, speaker, johnson, is not even 100 days into his new job, but he is facing many of the issues that were there for his predecessor, kevinonight, some democrats are raising the prospect, privately, potentially coming to johnson's rescue needs it. that is a big if though there, because what we are hearing is they will help them out if he agrees to put a bipartisan spending and border deal, one that is still being hashed out in the senate up for a vote on the house floor. joining me tonight is a democrat who says he would consider doing it actually that. texas congressman gonzalez. and congressman, it is good to have you here tonight. explain why it is different. because obviously before when they asked kevin mccarthy no democrats came to save him. why would it be different for speaker, johnson? >> i think speaker johnson has a historic opportunity to bring the country together and lead from the center and pass meaningful, bipartisan legislation, and i think in doing so he will develop relationships and a lot of goodwill on both sides of the aisle, and i think we will be supportive of him, and that one day could save his s

this is really exuding, you know, the challenges that many people thought that johnson would be able to overcome, that kevin mccarthy couldn't, but it's nearly identical issues that both men have had in leading this really really contentious caucus. >> yeah, i mean, i'm having flashbacks to when paul ryan was the speaker, and donald trump was president, he would fire off a tweet, and the planned day in congress would go entirely off the rails because he could no longer control his own conference. what's your sense, you know, we're seeing threats to vacate the chair which is what happened to kevin mccarthy if he moves forward with this, one from marjorie taylor greene. how real do you think the possibility is that johnson might get thrown out of his job considering how messy it was to get him in there in the first place? >> it depends on who you talk to on capitol hill. if you look at the 30,000 foot larger scene here, i mean, do house republicans after everything that they went through from january of last year to the end of the year where they lost one speaker, and like, painfully tried to reelect one, do
