live in jessup, i'm kevin lewis, abc7 news. larry: thanks. we are looking at the wicomico county. the guards were transporting him when he escaped. scott has more from the "live desk" on what the team found out. scott: they call this a detention center. this is a county jail with issues. i have the issues right here. in 2000, the u.s. department of justice found the facility in rough shape. the d.o.j. found the police understaffed, in need of repairs and the medical program needed an overhaul. it opened in 1988. handles 6,000 offenders a year. capacity is david watson arrived at the detention center thursday from a delaware prison. usually the facility only hold inmates serving up to a maximum sentence of 18 months. webster was here to face more charges. this type of the transport escape has happened before from the facility. in 2008, inmate serving an 18-month sen fence for probation violation just walked away from a transport van. "7 on your side" has asked detention center for the record of all the escapes. so far, no response. we checked the maryland state prisons, four inmate
