cnn's kevin liptak joining us live from the white house. what's going on?icka, the president did test positive this morning on an antigen test. the white house always maintained this could be a possibility. he was taking the antiviral drug paxlovid. there have been some examples of patients rebounding and then testing positive again. president biden does seem to be among that faction of patients for whom that is true. now the white house said he did test negative over the last several days. today was his first positive test after that period where he had been testing negative. he doesn't have any symptoms. that's according to the white house physician, dr. kevin o'connor. he says he has had no reemergence of symptoms. he continues to feel quite well but still they will maintain these isolation procedures that the president had been undergoing for that five days when he was having symptoms from covid last weekend. now, the president had emerged quite triumphantly on wednesday when he first tested negative after his stint with covid. he came to the rose garde

let's take you to the white house and cnn's kevin liptak joining us live. this was part of a fireside conversation that the vice president had with actress keke palmer. what else did she say? >> reporter: she tried to lay out the stakes of this decision and tell her audience to speak out about it, and this was the largest audience that she has spoken to in the ten days since that ruling came down. it was a very important group that she was speaking to. black women, of course, are very important constituency for the democratic party, one that the white house hopes will be galvanized by this decision. so the vice president called it outrageous, she said it was a serious issue and even harkened back to some of the darkest moments in american history, listen to what she had to say. >> what essentially has happened is the statement has been made that the government has a right to come in your home and ale you as a woman and as a family what you should do with your body. we also know that we have had a history in this country of government trying to claim ownersh

>> kevin liptak live from the white house. good to see you, kevin, thank you.ere with me now, ryan lizzo. ryan, how much does this set the president back? >> i don't really think it sets the legislative agenda back too much. i mean, frankly the biggest thing that's happened in congress, president biden didn't have a whole lot to do with. that was joe manchin and chuck schumer building back on this new version of build back better. biden stayed away from that negotiating. the other things going through, the chips bill he's going to sign this week. there's potential for codified same-sex marriage into federal law. his agenda is being ushered through congress without him having to do too much. he wants to be on the road because the midterms are coming up. he wants to make the case for what they're passing because they're op a bit of a hot streak. it seems like every time in the past few years whenever he plans to get on the road and do campaigning, he doesn't. sometimes it's covid. sometimes it's other things. i think that's the bigger thing. can he go out on the

kevin liptak is at the white house for us. how is the president feeling? is he showing any symptoms at this point? >> reporter: he says he feels fine. he says he's got no symptoms. in a letter, the white house doctor dr. kevin o'connor said he has not experienced a reemergence of the symptoms he had experienced when he had covid. this is not the news that the president really wanted after it seemed like he had been finished with his bout from covid. he tested negative on tuesday night, and he tested negative every day since then until this morning when that antigen test came back positive. now, the why house says he will isolate at the white house. they've pulled down a string of events that he had had. he was supposed to go to his house in delaware tomorrow morning, and he was also supposed to go to michigan next week. they've canceled that. now, what they're attributing this resurgence to is that antiviral paxlovid, and president biden had been taking a course of that during his initial bout with the virus, but what the white house had done is kind of do

but my colleague, kevin liptak a reporting tonight, that what we saw tonight from the committee was justit actually took about an hour for the former president to recorded that video, which, as we know, only ended up being a three minute video that was published on january 7th with his remarks. and i think when you look at the totality of this hearing, and you think about what part is going to bother trump the most, it's likely going to be that, anderson, because it's very revealing, it shows the president behind the scenes, stumbling over words, saying he did not want to say the election was over, he instead only wanted to say that congress had certified it. he hits the lectern several times. none of that is surprising to people who have spoken to who worked inside the white house and were familiar with how this went down. but it is very revealing of what his wine mindset was on that day, his daughter ivanka trump was in the background, you didn't see her but you heard her, helping him make those revisions. we haven't actually seen trump respond to this hearing it, anderson, he does hav

cnn white house reporter kevin liptak has more. >> reporter: president biden says he's got no symptomsfter testing positive for covid again. the white house doctor says he's doing quite well, and president biden even told some folks on the phone earlier today that he was working out in the white house gym. so medically he certainly seems to be doing fine. but this is a disappointment for president biden after really it seems like he was finishes with coronavirus after testing negative last week. and the white house said that he tested negative each day since tuesday evening, but he did have a positive test on an antigen test earlier saturday morning. so the president will be isolating here at the white house. the white house did have to cancel another of out of town-trips that the president had scheduled. but he does have his dog to keep him company. it was only four days ago that the president emerged from the white house really sort of triumphant after testing negative for coronavirus. what the white house says is that they were testing him each day, but he did throw that positive te
