kevin mccarthy didn't hold out for more. this is how washington gets things done, slow moving compromise. the the "wall street journal" said in this divided government, there was always going to be a debt limit compromise. there had about be, lest the government default. that's the way it's always been. in some of the fine print, congress has now prohibited president biden from extending the pause on student loan repayments put into place by president trump. president trump eliminated the interest, then extended the pause three times. president biden paused it four more times. the pause ends, i mean it really ends this fall. separately, the senate also passed a bill that would prohibit president biden's idea of forgiving some student loans altogether. the house already passed the same prohibition, but president biden can and will just veto that idea. the senate hasn't got the votes to override. student loan forgiveness lives on for now, stuck for now in the supreme court. laura, coming up in just a bit, we'll have big news on the jobs numbers. that's coming up when we talk business. >> we're waiting fo
