transfer partners and interior secretary ryan zinke fresh from the board of oil pipeline company key westnergy. why don't they just be open about it and move the federal government to houston? that would make life easier for byron brown. who is that? i will tell you. he was senior council to the senate committee on environment and public works, and then last year appointed to a team at the environmental protection agency reviewing regulations affecting oil and gas companies. helpfully, his wife is a senior lobbyist for a major oil and gas company, hess corporation. how perfectly swampy. speaking of that senate committee, environment and public works senator john barrasso became its chairman last year. in the 2016 election cycle before barrasso became chairman, he wasn't in the top 20 of senators who received contributions from oil and gas. but since he's become chairman with significant power over the industry, surprise, surprise! he's jumped to the top of the list, receiving more donations from oil and gas than any other senator. nearly a quarter of a million dollars just in a few months

you went to key west for your anniversary. and you went down there after the election.id that come about? >> well, you know, we were just down there, you know, jimmy is from alabama originally. and we were just down there. and he found out about -- he was coming in go to a niece's wedding. found out about it, and just like went, "whoa, doug jones is here." and invited to us to the surprise concert at margaritaville. had lunch the next day. it was -- you know, it was awesome. i mean it was just a lot of fun when he stood up and sang "stars fell on alabama", and dedicated it to us. oh, it was cool. >> seth: well that is a fantastic anniversary present, yeah. >> it was the best.
