now you may remember we told you yesterday about khadijah mellah, the 18—year—old female jockey who wase magnolia cup at glorious goodwood, after sitting on a racehorse for the first time just three months ago. well, she won! in a fairytale ending, khadijah beat the likes of olympic champion victoria pendleton, despite only learning to gallop for the first time last week. khadijah is believed to be the first person in the uk to wear a hijab in a competitive horse race and it won't be the last we'll see of her. i didn't really realise what the magnolia cup was so i was like, "yeah, sure, a race, love that." ebony horse club sort of were like, "we'll support you," and stuff, and ijust, i can't really explain it, just, yeah, started riding out. it was really difficult initially, racehorses is very difficult, i had quite a few mishaps, but as soon as i got the hang of it i started enjoying it loads and i want to continue riding out, and i love it. just to recap, on the first day of the first test of the ashes, england bowled out australia for 284. stephen smith was in for 144. all the lates
