khalid shaikh mohammed is one of them. of their manual that was captured in afghanistan 2002 requires them to hold out as a matter of personal honor to hold out as long as possible. if you don't do something severe they have not met the test of their honor and cannot cooperate. it is an interactive process. i am not in favor of torture per se but i don't think what the u.s. government does is torture but you need to create stress in the subject to extract a life-saving information. and if you don't create enough stress and don't get the animation and people die, how would you explain to the families who lost somebody because they got on the bus at the wrong time? we could have found out about the plot but we may have had to pour some watcher on his face lower keep him in the air-conditioned room for hours or. what is the explanation to the family? it is a trade at -- trade-off. critics imagine they live in a world of infinite need sapped you can have the most humane and gentle treatment possible. by the way if you look at
