just to kickstart it deceiving, how did you come up with a fascinating and interesting book, "radical," and where did this interesting income from? >> so i think the genesis of the name is an interesting one in that when it first got to d.c. it was the lowest performing and most dysfunctional school district and the entire nation. that was a pretty widely known truth. so i started doing things that were obvious for school district in that kind of state. i started closing low performing schools, moving out ineffective employees, cutting the central office bloated bureaucracy and have. as i was taking all these steps and measures, people started saying she's a firebrand, she's a radical, she so controversial. and i thought, really? after thinking about it for a while finally i just said you know what, it's bringing some common sense to dysfunctional system makes me a radical, then i'm okay with that. so that sort of the embracing the concept was the idea for the name of the book. >> some people call you anti-teacher. however, there's many teachers out there who really like you. which is
