i do not believe in sanctions will move kim jong-un to come back to the table. we try that with china, and that is a nuclear regime that has oppressed people for decades. i would like to see signs north korea that is willing to move forward with reforms and politicalization, and human rights, as i've mentioned. that is something that i consistently talk about. human rights should remain a part of our approach north korea. if we cannot rely on the kim regime to protect the basic rights of his own people, they cannot be trusted to maintain a comprehensive and binding agreement. the united states and south korea should work together to ensure that any aid we send or consider sending into north korea is used to support their north korean people. not proper up the line with kim. we should not waver in maintaining that pressure on kim to be brought back into compliance in the long run. for all these reasons that i have mentioned, i think it is real important that we can serve as a great platform, and it can be used as a great implements -- influence the process. espec
