hello they are watching very closely typhoon kima now this storm system is continuing to strengthen and continuing to move on towards taiwan and you see this massive cloud on the satellite the rain is going to be trench over this storm system and the winds now by thursday sustained at about 210 kilometers an hour and as we move on into friday as it really does come very close to making landfall really across northern sections of taiwan we could see sustained winds about 230 kilometers an hour means that the rains will accumulate about $250.00 millimeters of rain coming down on taiwan and also the storm surges could be as high as 2 meta so we'll watch this very very closely elsewhere in china usual story from those the plum rains that kara along those coastal areas a lot of the rain further to the southeast staying away from bourne you some entre as well but still as you can see really pushing across much of the philippines and actually all these monsoon rains right there back across to southern thailand vietnam and across into much of my family and then into india still very heavy parti

hello there we're still watching this tropical storm a kima it is still way off taiwan but it is heading in that general direction i can see this massive cloud on the satellite we've got a little rain still into manila and then across towards the east this is what we're watching this tropical storm now what will generally happen is as this storm actually continues its journey up towards taiwan it will begin to pull some of this moisture away from luzon so some a double edge sword that with this system it will produce some very heavy rains some strong damaging winds as it heads towards taipei but it should begin to ease things a little bit across into use on a fine day in hong kong with 34 degrees celsius further to the south the rain again is staying away from borneo we've got it all is to say being pulled up towards the philippines it's all part of the monsoonal flow and you can see here the direction of the arrows where that rain is going in fact where it's also coming from so another what does this say into manila we've also got more rain across into bangkok and also here in and that'

and then out towards the west much further much closer towards land we have got the cayman now the kimahas actually strengthened into a super typhoon these are the winds right now this is the strongest this storm will be so it will begin to very gradually we can look at this is staying winds 240 kilometers an hour we've got some gusts over 290 kilometers an hour but it's moving at a pretty good speed up to the northwest at 18 kilometers an hour so what that means is it will produce heavy amounts of rain but it will be lingering very long over any one particular area but taiwan is really going to feel the brunt of this storm system you can see it here on the map now as it continues to spin and work its way northward it really is just going to clip sort of the northern shores of taiwan which will begin to make it weaken and then it will continue its own woods journey but it will produce some very heavy amounts right now on the up side if there is one as it moves up tools north it also pulls a lot of this rain away finally from lose on so a slightly better day as we head through the next 2

hello there watching very closely typhoon kima now this storm system is continuing to strengthen and continuing to move on towards taiwan and you see this massive cloud on the satellite the rain is going to be trench over this storm system and the winds now by thursday sustained at about 210 kilometers an hour and as we move on into friday as it really does come very close to making landfall really across northern sections of taiwan because the sustained winds about 230 kilometers an hour means that the rains will accumulate about $250.00 millimeters of rain coming down on taiwan and also the storm surges could be as high as 2 meta so we'll watch this very very closely elsewhere in china usual story from those the plum rains that kara along those coastal areas a lot of the rain further to the southeast staying away from borneo some entre as well but still as you can see really pushing across much of the philippines and actually all these monsoon rains right there back across disciplines vietnam and across into much of my family and then into india still very heavy particularly long t

when then super typhoon kima came ashore early saturday morning here on the eastern coast of china it was the worst storm china had seen for years and what happened is that it hit the eastern coast very early saturday morning but what happened here in this community you know there are 5000000 people in china they were impacted by this storm system and why this community was impacted the most of any of those 5000000 that's because up along this valley now this is an area that's outside the evacuation zone over a 1000000 people were evacuated during this typhoon the people here were not because they're outside of that zone the storm wasn't supposed to come this far and it really didn't but what did happen is up the valley water started to pool a natural dam formed and then it broke and then flash floods came streaming down this valley and buried more than 20 people in a community just up the river a little bit and you can see here the community is still cleaning up and this is well after 2 days since the storm hit. what they're doing is they're having to clear these areas on the way up
