you may remember civilian police officer sergeant kimberly m munley. she shot the ft. hood gunman. she's appearing on oprah today. the recent article on slate.com says the best way to on more her heroism one to drop the ban on women in combat. it prevents them from infantry positions and being assigned medics to combat units. there are 10,000 female personnel in iraq, 4,000 more in afghanistan. what they're doing is driving trucks, treating the wounded, shooting when attacked. more than 100 though have given their lives in iraq and another 15 have died in afghanistan. this article says the no combat policy pretends that women can't take such risks without harming overall military performance. do you believe that to be true? steve is joining us from louisville. do you think that that's true? why or why not? >> caller: i think women should be able to serve equally, as their male counter parts. there's a lot of women out there that could easily tear me apart in hand-to-hand combat. i'm sure they can handle a weapon a lot better than i can. but yet, because i'm male, if i so desire to
