i'm kimberly suiters. this morning, one fire crew had to deal with one of their own. ry live in springfield to show us exactly what happened. ryan. ryan: the captain believes that this fire started near the cab of one of the fire trucks in the garage. the crews are still out here, cleaning up this mess. it is pretty rare for firefighters to jump out of bed, put their gear on, and battle a fire at their own station, but even with their quick response, there is still a lot of damage out here. >> we don't like to go to someone's emergency, and we don't want to go to ours, but it happened. ryan: fairfax county firefighters did not have to go far to battle a blaze. the fire alarms inside the fire station activated around 1:00 this morning. 11 firefighters have your medics were on duty. they got out, called 911, and then jumped into action. >> from the area it occurred, it was somewhere around the front of the cap. ryan: this firetru fire inside the station and spread to the attic area. the truck and the crew just got back from a call shortly before the fire. the flames eig
