earlier this week a member of cal fire communicated to my office devastating fires of the camp fire and kinkade fire, a result of a historic wind event which reached 100 miles per hour for a sustained period of time. if these wind events are happening every year and causing wildfires they're obviously not historic or isolated events anymore but the new norm. we should be focusing our resources on research and more accurate prediction models that take these new norms into account. you referenced ongoing research being conducted of laboratories around the country on this. is there latest research to better predict dangerous wind events that can lead to wildfires? >> yes, the research that i was referencing which i'm familiar with and obviously there's a lot more being done, is that particularly in california there's a lot of work being done, we're putting enormous amounts of censors in which needs to be done. those censors are providing or creating lot of data and it's everything from high altitude winds to local affects to try to be able to first of all warn when the situations are likely to cau
