you have seen these kiosks which are designed as newsstands on market street. and our organization partnered with hok and aia to figure out different ways, possible uses for the kiosk, and we currently have at least a grant to operate these kiosks in central market and also an agreement and a permit through the department of public works to do so. one of the kiosks will be a bike repair stop through huckleberry bicycles which is a new business that will be opening on seventh and market street. there will be providing repairs to bicyclist in the area. another is an arts in residence kiosk and we're talking to hospitality house or intersection for the arts to use that space for and our purpose. the central market arts festival. we have a website, central- market.org where we have updated information and where we include meeting minutes, agendas, and so forth. we also have a facebook page and a twitter account where we provide immediate information to the public. actively using social networking to communicate information to the community. we have also had several

as i mentioned, there is the kiosk and a map panel. this slide shows an example of the golden gate park in 2009. that is when the station is being lifted off of a truck from one of the industry leaders, coming to demonstrate this from montreal. it is being dropped into place. the bottom slide on the left -- as i mentioned, you can drop them off anywhere within the system. they do not all magically end of where you need them to be, so what the vendor does is rebalance the bicycles. bicycle need to be rebalance to get optimum distribution throughout the system. part of the system is also a back end website, call center. that is where the dispatcher is, mainframe computer, which talks wirelessly to the individual stations. operators of the system know where the bikes are at all times. there is a lot of data collected on the use of the bicycles and the behavior of members. for someone like myself, i look forward to seeing a lot of value, how the people are using the bicycle's. >> you can tell where the bicycles are at all times? >> they wi

we found graffiti on transit shelters and commercial kiosks and found torn and missing advertisements and we found at least to public toilets on market streets that have been out of order for over two weeks. that would be part of the dpw agreement on maintaining public toilets. we also discovered news racks, which are part of the dpw contracts did not only hold the newspapers but were being used as storage for trash and other things. our office had five recommendations intended to improve compliance with inventory maintenance and other requirements under the existing agreements with the exception of mta. all of the the parents agreed with our recommendations to provide an example of mta's responses -- recommendation 4.3 in our report is that mta should initiate quarterly site visits to inspect advertisements and associated infrastructure. mta says staff reviews these items as part of the regular duties, but the visits are not documented and the advertising space remains an issue. our office maintains all seven recommendations made to mta as part of the ottoman terms of compliance and

they are limited to pretty much what we can convey to them at the kiosk. but we will have safety information available. helmets is not something you brought up. home and use one not be required for this system. it is not really practical. people who rent bicycles usually rent elements as well, but there is a person there to make sure that the helmet fits, that it is not damaged. short of a vending machine, which could be in development, there is not really a practical way to do it. i think people would be reluctant to put on a home and worn by so many other people. what has been done in other cities is members are offered -- they are steered to a local retailer for a helmet. you can buy a fully useful helmut for $6. it does not need to be an expensive model. we will make them affordable for those that want to use them. to remark on the incident that happened on the embarcadero. my sense is the collision happened with someone at random and red light and ran into a pedestrian. i do not think that will be your typical bicycle sharing user. a phenomenon that w
