i'm kira klapper. we want to welcome you to a brand new month. it is march 1st and cinthia pimentel has a quick look at our microclimate forecast. along with the new month comes new weather. we had such a warm week and now a big cool down. yeah, our little fling with spring is over. we are cooling it down this weekend. we see those low clouds and fog returning san bruno mountain. there's storm ranger. it's going to be busy later on today as we get some more moisture in here. breezy out there towards walnut creek and those mid 40s. and down here in san jose. some low 50s with those low clouds. also a gloomy morning, a chance to sleep on in. so we'll feel that cool down along wh some peeks of sunshine. a chance to get outdoors today later on this afternoon. but there is some spotty rain that's going to come into the picture as we go on into dinner time. continuing into our sunday plans, and even on into next week. our first full week of a brand new month. i'll be back with those details. give you the timing of it all coming up in about 15 minutes.

i'm kira klapper. the clock is ticking for people living at san francisco's only safe parking site. it's known as the bay view vehicle triage center. it's a 35 spot parking lot opened in 2022. it has served 132 households living in their cars. late last year, san francisco announced the site would be closing and that's on monday. the city says everyone was offered permanent housing, rental subsidies, alternative shelter or relocation assistance before monday's closure. most have accepted the help. those who didn't have to be out by the end of tomorrow. our concern, though, is for those who still are going to be living in their vehicles. they're not going to have a safe place to park. the city had spent millions of dollars on the site, whichch was just recently equipped with electricity. it also offered case management, housing assistance and vehicle repair to those living there. the san francisco chronicle reports the high costs and limited success are among the reasons for the closure. we're going to

joining us on this sunday, march 2nd, i'm kira klapper. we begin with breaking news this morning.on south white road. this is in san jose, right next to mount pleasant high school. police say they found a man in the road with major injuries, and he later died. no word if the driver of the car stopped or if it was a hit and run. right now, south white road is closed in both directions from mount mckinley drive to rocky mountain drive. we will continue to update this story as we learn more. now to a follow up to that standoff we brought to you as breaking news yesterday morning, an hours-long standoff with san jose police ended with a burglary suspect under arrest. it started around 530 yesterday morning at lincoln liquor in san jose's willow glen neighborhood. police were responding to a call about a burglary in progress. the thief barricaded himself inside. as jpd surrounded the storere. andt took them about three hours for that suspect to surrender. no one was hurt. some rain out there this morning. cinthia pimentel joins us with a quick look at our microclimate forecast. hey goo
