i'm kira klapper. thanks so much for starting your weekend with us. vianey arana joins us with a look at your microclimate forecast and we needed this, right? >> we did need this. i wish we could get more and it looks like we have another system on the weekend for tomorrow. you can see the fog on the live camera, 55 degrees right now. so this a bit of a warmer front. now, that's going to keep our temperatures sort of in the 50s versus the very cold 30s we have seen. overall, here's a look at the storm ranger tracking the last lingering showers from the initial system that made its way through yesterday. if you look out at the pacific we have some moisture that is expected to make its move in early tomorrow morning. that's going to bring another chance of seeing light to moderate, heavier pockets of rain. it is good, because that will add to our snow totals as well for the sierras. if you had any travel plans to head up there for essential reasons i would hope, check out the road conditions. we'll have the timing on that coming up in 15 minutes. >> see

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a look at your microclimate forecast.pouring on my drive in this morning. >>> yeah, we are getting a good lion line of showers pushing through. 54 degrees in san jose. you're right, you can see the rain, a welcome sight. how about this view from our storm ranger radar. you can see some heavier downpours. that's where you see the yellow and the orange colors begin to light up. now as we continue throughout our morning, we're going to see this system continue to move north to south with light to moderate rain. heavy pockets of rain at times depending on where you are. another thing we're monitoring very closely is going to be their king tides, a coastal flood advisory will be in effect starting at 7:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. a high surf advisory as well. we could see waves upwards of 25 feet and localized flooding near high tides could happen especially into the mid morning. so we'll be looking at this very closely. in addition to that a winter storm warning as well heading to the sierra. the high surf advisory kicks in at

i'm kira klapper. meteorologist rob mayeda is here in for vianey. before we get to him, we'll get to this. a winter wonder land in the sierra. this is video from i-80 at donner lake. and look at all that snow. of course that area is under stay-at-home orders so if you're looking to shred, you will not be able to go up there right now. let's check in with meteorologist rob mayeda. >>> you mentioned the sierra along interstate 80. with this storm central and southern sierra should see the most snow. as we take you outside no rain yet here in the bay area. temperatures in the 40s and in san jose a little patchy fog. cloudy skies to start. the late afternoon and the evening we will see the chances of rain on the increase. plan on a cool day. our highs in the mid-50s and there you see the rain approaching the coast. we'll get more of that after sundown tonight as our storm ranger for now is relatively quiet. notice the cloud cover and that storm lurking offshore. i have to say the rain totals have come down a little bit. especially if you're in the north
