i'm kira klapper.ney. >> hey there. i do have a look at the doppler radar, because it shows the approaching system impacting us later this morning in the north bay and later this evening and afternoon, depending on where you live. let's look right now you can see it, the green is the rain. we have a cold front that's going to drop down, microclimate highs are going to feel a little chillier today, topping out in the upper 50s for most of the bay area and here is a look at the timing. if you live in san jose, san rafael, napa, you'll be the first to see the rain right around 5:00, we'll get some spotty rain, start to push in further south and then eventually by about 7:00, 8:00, we'll see it spread southward and we'll see some lingering rain into monday morning and also getting windy, we have the possibility of thunderstorms and hail and low snow forming headed into monday so we'll be monitoring this closely. i'll have a closer look at the time line and exactly what you can expect heading into the start

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana joins us this morning with a quick look at your microclimate forecast. i think you know we all made it here this morning, even though we lost an hour's sleep, good for us. >> yes, you know, it may be a two-cup of coffee kind of a morning but also going to feel cozy inside. we have a cold front coming in, kira, going to drop our temperatures and bring rain and wind to the bay area. you can see the radar in the pacific north making 80s proche later into this day. if you live in the north bay, santa rosa, napa, ukiah you're first to see the rain out of this system and then it will trickle south by the afternoon and the evening hours. breezy at times, talking 15, 25-mile-per-hour winds and monday, showers will continue but we're also looking out for is the instability that's going to come with this cold front that's going to bring back the chance of seeing thunderstorms in the bay area and maybe even hail and low-level mountain snows. so full details on that in a few minutes.

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a quick look at your microclimate forecast.e should say not the entire bay area looks that gloriously glowing this morning. there's some low clouds and fog out there. >> yes, that's true. we definitely have some low-lying clouds around the coastline but it's okay. we're going to see still some sunshine in around the beach areas and i want to give you a look at your hiking forecast. it's a perfect day to do that. we've got 10:00 a.m. 60 degrees but noon and 2:00 p.m. for the east bay, upper 70s, low 80s for the interior valley. get that hike out early and don't forget if you're taking your pup look out for the signs of overheating and things like that. take them plenty of water. you don't want to hike during peak heat because it will be getting warm. as far as the beach goes, we will be seeing temperatures sort of remain cool and daytime highs for today are going to be really warm upper 70s/low 80s. i'll talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. >> see you for that, vianey, thanks so much. >>> bay area streets filled with

i'm kira klapper. vianey arana has a look at your microclimate forecast. hey, v. >> hey there. we did have a quick-moving cold front that pushed through at times with pretty heavy downpours in some spots. that is continuing to weaken as it treks east. by daylight, we'll see pretty much the rain cleared out. 48 in san jose. now, in addition to that rain, there was also gusty conditions. we had some recorded winds up through the napa area, upward of 50 plus. san francisco got a gust of 47 miles per hour. so here's a closer look at doppler radar. you can see the majority of the rain starting to move east. we're going to talk about, you know, the sierra snow that you see on radar. that's the white and pink coloring that you see popping up there. as far as the afternoon goes here, partly cloudy conditions, breezy at times. and the temperatures will be in the upper 50s around the coastline. low 60s for the interior valleys, through the south bay. definitely noticing a lot cooler weather today. i'll talk more about that at 7:00 a.m. >> we'll see you at 7:00. thanks. sutter health is h
