i couldn't agree with david kirby more when he talks about the fact that dawn was doing something thathad been doing with till you can um for quite a while. she was not put in a position on that day that she hadn't been in several times before. and if there was an issue with that, it should have been brought to her attention. she was a star trainer at sea world. if it had been brought to her attention that she shouldn't be doing that, i'm sure she wouldn't be doing that. >> carol, should these animals, killer whales are so big in these tanks where they basically go around in circles. should they be in captivity like this, used in these shows? >> gosh, i think the only thing we've learned -- or one of the most important things we've learned from having these animals in captivity is they're not suitable to have in captivity. regardless of whichever way you go in terms of your thoughts on whether or not these animals should be used for exploitation and entertainment, the fact of the matter is i don't think there's a safe way to have humans interacting in close proximity with these whales.

now what happened last night, this part of the asphalt on kirby way which is a fairly big intersectionht fire. apparently, there was a four- inch gas line beneath it. of course, we had the fire on top. what happened is that the asphalt basically -- now, we have some video to show you what this looked like last night. it burned for about seven hours until pg&e crews could get on either side of it, dig holes about 7 feet down, about 50 feet on either side of this gas leak and then shut it off. but the line itself, there's some question about it. not too long ago, about a year ago, there was a fire about 150 feet approximately in the same area. so the gas line in question -- of course, pg&e will be taking a look at it as far as making major renovations for this. unfortunately, nobody was injured. but the businesses had to be evacuated overnight around here. it looks like the repairs are pretty much complete. they had to take the asphalt out because it lost its hardness and therefore karrs run into -- therefore, to make it safe, the crews replaced the has malt. it's likely this intersectio
