john kirt it and has not given up in the face of difficulties. >> nobody wants to see them struggling and gotting as well as they would like. so we're all dedicated to continuing to help they will what they need. if that means more training, then more training it will be. if that means more capabilities, more capabilities it will be. we're all in this together. >> clare sebastian is live for us in london. and i think these are remarkable admissions from ukraine and a major ally. what factors are being blamed for the slower progress, is it the lack of training? >> it is a number of factors, and this is somewhere where ukraine's president zelenskyy and western officials that we've been speaking to agree it is the slowness with which they were able to start it. remember it was called the spring counteroffensive and they didn't manage to really get things under way until early june. president zelenskyy has since said that is because they were waiting for stocks of weapons to arrive until they reached that sort of critical mass. it is the russian defenses because during that time russia wa
