again, this comes from a tweet from amy klobuchar. and we already have a reaction from the family here. the floyd family coming through the family attorney benjamin crump who is saying this is a bittersweet moment for the family and they are glad that minnesota attorney general keith ellison has decided to take this step. now we're still waiting the official press conference that we're expecting at some point this afternoon. we're expecting to hear from a combination of either the attorney general or the governor tim walz. and unofficially when this news was coming down, this broke in the local newspaper citing anonymous sources about half an hour ago and at that time here in minneapolis there were already cheers here at the site, ground zero for where george floyd had his final moments unfold. again just a little over a week ago at this point. and now here we are half an hour later seeing this confirmation at least through a tweet from senator amy klobuchar and that is when the protesters have wanted all along. not just charged for a

but i think it's important to reflect on what senator klobuchar said.irst of all, she ran an impressive campaign. i have great respect for her. what she said last night was extraordinarily gracious. and i think perceptive about the mood of the country. she also emphasized the importance of the role she has to play right now in helping be part of the healing in minnesota. but what's important about what senator klobuchar said and did is that she made clear that this election and whoever joe biden chooses among many very talented candidates, is about getting joe biden in the white house. somebody who can heal and unify the nation and remove donald trump and consign him and those who supported him in the senate to the trash heap of history. we need each of those who have been considered or present or in the past to put all of our efforts, regardless of who he chooses, into helping get joe biden elected. and amy klobuchar reinforced that that was her priority last night and i admire that enormously and that's my view as well. >> and is it your view that as

and so, what senator klobuchar did was a selfless act. one of a true public servant, that is trying to make this a more perfect union, than to worry about the future of amy klobuchar. so i give her a lot of respect for doing what she did, and the manner that she did it. she was a real viable candidate for vp. and she pulled herself out because she is worried about the people she represents. and that is a -- a monumental moment, and i think that was very big of her. >> should we expect joe biden to take her advice? >> well, her advice was to pick a woman of color. and, look, i have my preferences, chuck. and i will not lie about that. but what i do know is that there's probably no person, more qualified on earth, than joe biden, to know what he wants in a vice president. he served as a vice president for eight years to braqarack ob. and he knows what he's looking for in terms of being on the same page. a person who pushes him. a person who supports him. a person who he has a true connection with. and so, i will defer to the vice president,

what amy klobuchar did i'm not even sure if she was in consideration but she did a couple things.ut the pressure on biden but also did something really interesting that maybe we're not thinking about as much as and i can't help but wonder if biden wasn't thinking about elizabeth warren very seriously before all of this happened, and before amy klobuchar made this move. i think that amy klobuchar might have made this move in addition wanting to support equality in that role, i think she also wanted to make sure that the party didn't go too far left and i think that was a very interesting chess move and i'm reading into it a little bit but i think that is the case. there's also some very very qualified women of color that biden had to choose from and some of them had experience with the police, some have experience in the military so very interesting choice to make and i think if he doesn't choose a woman of color there's going to be a lot of questions as to why. neil: you know, up until the floyd case, you could make a credible argument that amy klobuchar was in that dwindling and
