. >> 9news now ko im is live in alexandria with a look at the potomac this morning. good morning, ko. >> reporter: good morning, matt. behind us is the potomac. it's expected to crest tomorrow evening well above flood levels. that's why a flood warning has been extended until friday afternoon. right where we're standing on king and south union streets, if i had been here yesterday morning, the water would have seeped into my rain boots. so right now is low tide that's why you're not really seeing anything. let's give you a picture of what we saw yesterday. the water coming up to union streets. today it is expected to maybe go all the way to lee street. so people yesterday here were taking pictures in the water. right now we're seeing signs of do not enter. some caution tape and some roads blocked off. this is a time we want to share with you a couple of tips. we've been talking about flood warnings all week and before if you haven't prepared yet, we wanted you to elevate any water heaters, electronics like that and also to prevent any water from seeping into your base
