here are some images from our "sister station"-- koaa in colorado springs. the flames have burned three- thousand acres... ...and they're still going. it's so bad-- the pueblo county sheriff has recommended the evacuation of the entire beulah valley. here's a look at a map of that area. the valley is just southwest of the city of pueblo. the red is the evacuation area. the yellow is the pre-evacuation area... ...and it's gotten past few hours. this fire "kicked up" at around one o'clock, yesterday. we don't know what sparked it. it didn't taken long, though, for the flames to spread. high winds pushed it on, yesterday. some of the people who were forced from their homes have been sheltered at the state fairgrounds in pueblo... ...others have gone to a local middle school. seven structures have "burned down" -- so far-- in this fire here's the good sheriff expected higher humidity and cooler temperatures to help firefighters overnight. we're waiting on word of whether that actually happened. if so-- it may have helped them get some containment on this fire .
