kobane is now in ruins. these are exclusive images from inside that town.urdss are struggling to hold on, and a number of women are signing up to try to stop isil. knows all about the horrors of war, her husband he heads the armed syrian kurdish group. her son also a fighter ever was uh kill canned by an isil sniper last year. despite her loss, she dedicated her time to encouraging kurds cans to take up arms in what she called a battle for freedom. at this camp on the border of kobane, she meets with displaced curd kurdss. some of them have also lost loved ones. she tells me that it is the duty of women to serve on the front line, she says the battle is part of a wider struggle not only against isil, but against the syrian regime. the kurdish woman was oppressed from two sides first by society, and the other oppression by the syrian regime, which can took away all her rights. despite this it is the kurdish woman who is now resisting and because of this she has become a symbol of resistence around the world. >> syria's kurds cans celebrate their fighters. th

what can you tell us about the coalition airstrikes in kobane? >> they have continued now and they have been continuing for several weeks now. earlier today, there was a couple of strikes on the western side of kobane, the villages on the outskirts of that town there, which haven't been targeted now for at least a week. however, the strikes from where we were standing appear to land in open areas, so unless there were isil fighters on the ground, we're not sure exactly what they targeted, and that does raise the second question which a lot of people have been asking, which is the strikes have gone on for weeks now yet size as i will still command several parts of kobane. why they have not been effective as they were billed to have been in the beginning, and people are running out of patient why they are not yielding the results that people here particularly the kurds want to see. >> have those peshmerga reinforcements made a difference in that border town? >> speaking to the syrian kurdish fighters on the ground, they seem to say just that they h
