joining me now msnbc contributor robert trainham and democratic strategist chris kofi nas. advise democrats to do in a situation like this? should they boycott the speech? >> it's a tough call. i was listening to ambassador richardson earlier. i would not necessarily suggest that they boycott. i mean what i would hope would happen is that the prime minister netanyahu and his office speaker boehner would go to it the white house and figure that this is not the right way to do this. you don't have a head of state come give a speech before congress in a way that basically alienates the white house and the president of the united states. that's not something you do. at the same time f they decide to go through it i think every member has got to make their own decision in terms of what is best. this is a critical ally. this is a critical relationship. you don't want to add fuel to the fire. unfortunately what's happened here is, you know speaker boehner and the prime minister have made this political when it need not be. this is not something that needs to be a political thing.
