the susan b komen breast cancer walk was held as thousands showed up to support awareness. >> reporter: karen osborne is new at this. just two months ago she was told march and i finished the radiation in june. so i'm new to everything. i'm new to this whole event. i'm new to being a survivor. >> reporter: today she's overwhelmed by the sea of pink. approximately 10,000 attending the 24th annual susan b komen annual awareness event in downtown phoenix. >> oh, my gosh. it's so emotional. the whole thing. i have myself, three people in my family very close to me that are survivors and a lot of our around running and some patients are just running with their little bandannas. we have people who i've seen that got treated and they have their hair back and they have their strength back. we're all here. we're all going on for the cause. and we're raising awareness. >> reporter: the money raised in the event will go toward breast cancer research but primarily it goes to funding treatment programs. for first-timers like tara, the event is something she plans on doing for years to come. >> moti
