we have a future of 1375 koor lating to 1376 and we're starting to come up against resistance. very interesting that we're coming up the resistance on the s&p 500 and it has outperformed oil. it's similar to the pattern that we saw last november. down here it's something that has to give and it will be interesting to watch for the rest of the day because we're only five handles away from the s&p 500 big resistance level as they start to come out at that level. >> interesting. along with the vix lower since july and a lot of people talking about if you can contain it at that level or somewhere close to it, you're in a vix sweet spot, where it was in august 2010 and into february of 2011 right before the spring rally this time last year. how likely is that? >> well, again, since it correlates directly to the s&p 500, we have to get to this level on the future in order for us to get down there. i think the reason it was up, even though the s&p was up slightly and one of the reasons that you may see the vix for a little while is get the confidence that you can get through this resi
