they say she is kori joanne lamaster of pacifica, she was 17 when she disappeared back in 1993. body was found by hikers in 1994. tonight, joe vasquez learned more about the girl who disappeared so many years ago. >> reporter: it was horrible to hear what wound up happening to her. that she has been dead for that long. >> reporter: robert hanson of pacifica says he was surprised that kori joanne lamaster, the girl he used to babysit as a teenager was the remains found. she lived here in pacifica with her parents. they had adopted her from a relative. she was a chronic run away it was a traumatic ordeal for the family. kori ran away a few days, spent the night in homeless shelters, came back and ran away again. >> you know how come kids when they go through teenage years have difficult times an kori was one of those teenagers who just didn't adjust or fit in real well. >> reporter: kori's body was found in santa cruz in 1994. they don't know why they didn't report her missing until 1997. >> like i said, i know she ran away. maybe the last time she ran away, they didn't report her
