cnn's alison kosik has more for us. >> reporter: the data on the labor market in june came in far bettered. the unemployment rate fell to 11.1%. although the government noted in the report the unemployment rate should be more like 12.3% because of a misclassification error and a record 4.8 million jobs were added to the economy. but that is not the entire story. america is dealing with a severe joblessness crisis and millions of people are relying on government aid to make things meet. the labor department also reported 1.4 million workers, more than expected, filed for first-time unemployment benefits and a total of 31.5 million americans were collecting unemployment checks in the middle of the month. and now americans are macing more uncertainty as the economy reopens. in the middle of june according to the wall street journal the economy has shown signs of sputtering in the past few weeks. some indicators on joblessness and credit funding and retail food traffic suggest the economy is weakening again. as states across the country reimpose restrictions as cases spike and recovery could
