. >> contra kosta county sheriff swat team. we have a search warrant. >> reporter: swat teams raided a housing complex in marin city as part of the investigation into the halloween shooting in orinda that killed five people. >> they went in with full swat. gun, rifles. >> reporter: several people were detained. the raids were led by the contra kosta county sheriff's office. marin county sheriff deputies were also on scene to assist. beverly free man says they were heavy handed. >> it was excessive. i don't think you needed that many officers. >> reporter: sources tell us there had been a fight between two group, one from san francisco and the other from marin city. people in both groups were at the gathering in orinda. it was an air bnb party. freeman says two locations were raided and she doesn't think anyone who lived in the unit near hers was involved in the orinda shooting. i know nobody in there had anything to do with it. are so we're awaiting confirmation on the charges the people in custody could face. live in the news

kosta, for five minutes. mr. costa: mr. speaker, it saddens me once again to hear another mass shooting has occurred in our country. this time in my district. last night in fresno, california, another senseless ass shooting occurred. where four people lost their lives and six more were injured. this happened at a family gathering in a neighborhood not far from the airport near fresno. with 35 or more people gathered. children were present at this meaningless act while they were watching a football game. while none of the children were harmed, certainly their lives will be changed forever as a result of the trauma they experienced last night. i reached out to local law enforcement and we are ready to assist in any way possible. spoken with the mayor and chief of police. and certainly our thoughts and prayers with the victims and their families are there. but as a community and a country, thoughts and prayers are just not enough. the daily tragedy of gun violence continues to inflict violence to individuals and neighborhoods
