man by the name of dennis kozlowski. the students present the case study do a great job but i would find myself every semester spending 30 or 40 minutes after students presented saying i don't understand this case. with the facts available in the textbook and other resources i kept looking at it and looking at it and with other major corporate scandals like it makes sense of what went wrong, where the bad decisions were made, where the crimes were committed. much easier to understand but in the tyco scandal like couldn't make sense of it. on its face it didn't make sense to me. eventually because i found myself real explaining more explaining i didn't understand after the students' groups presented the case study i decided to take it back and do it myself every semester so i could say i didn't understand it instead of telling students they don't understand it this was a case that nagged at me for many years. it began as a small new hampshire company in 1960 doing non glamorous types of work, in the room, in these areas o

kozlowski during this timeframe?>> he was known when he acquired companies that's the first thing he often did is try to combine forces. his explanation is that companies were already struggling. that's why they acquired them. and so ultimately, they would cut jobs within the company would become healthier. the individual but loses the job that is little comfort. but my point as it is related to the scandal that company didn't bottom out and they were completely viable during the trial. so, you know, i have sympathy for anybody that gets caught him out and he was willing to do that hundreds of times. he would require companies and the first thing on his list was as many jobs as he could. that was his heated. i've spoken about that multiple times and he justifies it by saying we never acquired a healthy company. they were already struggling in the long term. we made it a healthy company and there were more jobs created but yes, for the individuals i could see where that is a problem and it is hurtful. yes. >> a compan

trader gary kozlowski of united futures joins us on this friday morning. good morning. it's been way too long since we've had you on the show gary. >>i feel the same way. good morning to you. >>what's going on with this tech trouble? some of these momentum namesteslathey're all starting to fall apart. what's happening? >>it's not really a falling apart. what we're seeing is a lot of the fund traders pulling back. this is the end of the first quarter so we gotta keep that in the back of our mind. come tuesday when the first of the month rolls around you'll start to see people slowly creeping back in. one thing you have to look at is for the retail investor in these markets right now with what they've endured throughout this winter with the higher energy costs there's not as many people jumping into the market. so it's going to be a slow creep up with these fund traders and then maybe we'll start to see some of the retail people when they see the prices slowly comuing back up. but it's not gonna take off running like we've seen in prior situations like this. >>very quickl
