live in cleveland, craig boswell kpix 5. >>> kpix 5 political analyst melissa caen joining us now fromleveland. melissa, talk to us about security because we have been hearing its more intense because of the protestors. >> reporter: there are a lot more protestors outside today. when you went to the entrance it was totally mobbed. basically what had to happen was cops stood next to each other forming two walls, basically, so you had to walk down essentially a police tunnel to get into the entrance. now, the protestors are a bit interesting maybe not what you would expect. they were religious-based protestors saying that, um, america needs to repent, um, and exactly -- and that we are suffering from a spiritual deficit. there was also counter- protestors to them. so not "black lives matter," not other types of protestors. these were religious-based protestors, at least the ones i saw coming in today. confirmation from a police officer i talked to, that they definitely have more protestors today than we have seen on monday or tuesday. >> i know donald trump came back to cleveland today.

sources tell kpix 5 he ran to his mother's house. he got into a six-hour standoff with officers and was taken into custody early this morning. police say the man's motive may have had something to do with anger toward police officers for the recent shootings of black men. >>> some folks in the east bay are raising concerns about more freight trains especially oil tankers that could move through a sensitive area. two plans are in the works to increase capacity through niles canyon. one would move crude oil from out of state to central california. another would reroute trains going both into and out of the port of oakland. they would use the same tracks as amtrak and ace commuter trains. last month an ace train heading to stockton derailed into alameda creek along niles canyon in sunol. about 12 people were hurt, four seriously. now a coalition of residents worries about oil trains derailing in that same area. and they are also concerned existing tracks are not in good enough shape to hang longer more frequent -- to handle longer more
