kreycik is an experienced hiker and runner. of the route they believe he took. they don't know if he got lost or even if he went off that route. the search area is about 50 square miles of terrain that's steep and rugged. the sheriff's office launched a drone with an infrared camera attached to it that can detect body heat. over 100 volunteers went out and searched the hill looking for this 37-year-old man who's married with two children. >> being a hiker myself and i am in these trails five days a week. if it happens to me, i would want the same kind of response. i have two kids at home. it breaks my heart to think about his family. >> i heard they had been using drones and helicopter to search, i was planning to go under the canopy of the trees and see what they can not see. >> time is a factor especially of the heat we had. we are hoping for the best. >> kreycik's wife reported him missing on saturday afternoon. on what was supposed to be a planned one hour run in the hill. the pleasanton regional park. kreycik left his phon

search for a missing runner is expected to resume in the east bay at 8:00 am. 37-year-old, philip kreycik, was last seen saturday morning, he told his wife he was going out for a run at pleasanton ridge regional park. amy is live in pleasanton with where the search stands right now. >> reporter: this is a huge effort, more than 100 people search dogs, thermal technology, all being used to look for this missing runner and still, no sign of him. philip kreycik disappeared on saturday afternoon in pleasanton, the man went out for a run near the pleasanton ridge regional park, he even mapped out his route on his runners-up and officials have used that as a guide for where he might possibly be. still no sign of him yet. authorities say philip kreycik is an avid runner who is in very good shape. >> the man is very resourceful. very athletic. we are just hoping that it was an injury and we just can't get to him. we just haven't found that spot yet. >> reporter: authorities did find his car in the parking lot at the trailhead, his wallet and his phone were inside, we asked police if they suspect
