chr we are joined live, kris? >> reporter: a 19-year-old victim of domestic violence, the calls are rare, not because teens and young people aren't suffering the abuse. >> domestic violence is the most common thing i see. i see it every day. i see it in my family. i grew up with it. my dad beat up my mom when i was little. i always have that in my mind. i would never do that to a woman. >> reporter: daniel, blogs about domestic violence trying to break the cycle for himself and teens. a mentor for next door solutions, a violence advocacy group. the group asked teenagers when is it justified to use physical force in a relationship. teens answered when a partner refuses sex, dresses inappropriately, makes their own decisions or disrespects the partner. teens didn't say it was okay. domestic violence advocates say one teen ties many. especially when san jose police say teens are less likely to report domestic abuse. >> we don't want young people to fool they can't report. we don't want our seniors, to have any fear o

kris and i were at the trial every day and we heard the expert testimony and the witnesses and it wase facts and evidence are on our side. the ruling, which was an amazing ruling, really showed that discrimination is wrong. that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right. we fully expect that to be upheld. >> what i thought was remarkable about today's ruling is that it says that federal courts are saying to california you can't take away a right from a group of people, based on who they are and i don't think that sin consistent with what the president has said what the supreme court has said, what people running for president are saying. when you read the facts, when you look at the reasoning behind this ruling, it is very clear. proposition 8 is harmful. it is taking away our constitutional right to equal protection, and i don't know anyone in elected office who could support that. >> this is what i think the huge contribution your case has made to the debate. it's no longer a question of how do you feel about this? are you uncomfortable about this? how would you feel if your child
