today, in the bay's kris sanchez joins us with the emotional conversation that's expected. kris ginger, you have school aged kids and it is really tough when you are attached to your school and things change like that. a lot of districts are facing the same issue, which is declining enrollment, and fewer students mean fewer dollars dollars to keep those schools open. let's start there. san francisco unified has 4000 fewer students since the 2017 2018 school year. so about six years ago, san francisco unified projects, it will have 4300 fewer students by the year 2032. that's the reason for what the district is calling its resource alignment initiative out today. the superintendent will update the board and the public on the conversations that they've had and discuss the criteria for determining which schools are most viable, and then they will weigh or what weight each criteria should have. here is some of what they will consider under the equity category access to schools and programs and the school's historical challenge. they'll also consider academic performance. each s

let's go to today in the bay kris sanchez. she's live for us this morning over at the san jose police department. and chris, i understand the chief has an important message for those who are attending those sideshows. well, hi there, marcus and scott. so the chief says they are using all available resources to track down the people who are responsible for this. now, this was a video circulating on social media of the sideshow that happened just before 7:00 on saturday night near santana row. the car at the center is the san jose police cruiser with a reserve officer inside. the officer was flagged down by people who witnessed a bystander injured in that sideshow. we talked with a legal analyst who says the culprits really face serious charges from felony assault on a police officer to felony vandalism, acting san jose police chief paul joseph issued a statement saying he will work with the district attorney to ensure that once arrested, the suspects are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. the chief is not the only one
