kris. and pg&e acknowledging that it's a possibility power line coming into contact with a tree. but saying that cal fire is still officially investigating what happened there. now, the hearing is still underway at the state building. the utility is pretty tight lip because two northern california women have sued pg&e for the death of their father killed in the butte fire. the two daughters saying their father, owen goldsmith, an 82-year-old retired air force staff sergeant died in that fire that devastated more than 70,000 acres and destroyed more than 800 homes and buildings in september. they blame it on the lack of care of one single tree. and they want pg&e and a tree trimming service to pay. now, state senator jer e jerry hill who is chair of this morning's panel want to know what utilities have and have not been doing since 2007 when wildfires ignited by power lines destroyed 1 million acres and 3,700 buildings. specifically he wants to know how they're proactively determining where fires might be so they can clear trees ahead of time. and hill called out pg&e in particular saying it's done t
