kris kobach, the secretary of state of kansas, he is running for governor there, and we have to sue him him from preventing one out of eight new voter registration applicants from getting on the rolls in that state this year. other states have seen problems too. states that are sometimes seen as critical states in the ballot for the senate. missouri we have to sue to stop them from failing to comply with our obligations under federal motor voter law. arizona, same story. north dakota obviously has problems with its id law. indiana wanted to purge voters, again, without providing them notice. so something similar to what brian kemp is doing. it just seems like this is not a coincidence, that it's happening in all of these states closely contested and soon as pivotal. >> do you expect these legal battles to go through the next 19 days? are we at a time when the courts won't intervene because we're too close to the election? >> the closer you are to an election the more reluctant courts are to interview. all we're asking is that voters before their ballots are tossed that they be notified

this past week a republican state legislator in kansas who is supporting republican candidate kris kobach for governor this year, this republican state legislature just got dinged, just got a whole bunch of unfavorable press statewide for a facebook posting in which he said this, quote, make sure you know when to vote. republicans, vote november 6th. democrats, vote november 8th. so republicans vote on election day. democrats vote two days after that, says republican kansas state lawmaker. and maybe that's a joke, right? maybe it's an honest mistake. maybe it was a printing error, a typo. who can tell, right? these things seem to happen a lot. but maybe they're all just innocent. when it comes to republican congressman lee zeldin in new york, this time we can tell for sure that it wasn't a mistake because in lee zeldin's case, after sending out a mailer in his district in 2016 that told people to absentee vote after the deadline had passed, he did that in 2016. now in 2018, lee zeldin has just done the exact same thing again, which is actually sort of making it easy for the local paper in
